Hi,

Please I need some guidance.
I have shot 4k with red
I Copy media from red CF cards to raid HD in my Mac
I Duplicated media from raid to storage (just for safety, it was only 355 GB, 3h36min)
I Converted r3d files to ProRes422 HQ for offline edit (only the good takes)
I have Edited ProRes422 HQ in FCP 7
Lock picture (looking great)

Up until here all is fine.

Now, I want to:
Conform back to original red media
Send to color OR should I do my color corrections in REDAlert?
Color Correct in 4k in Apple Color
Export to DPX
Print DPX to film

How exactly do I do this?
I am not sure about conforming back to original red media.
How do I import into Color the original RED media?
What labs will Print from DPX to film?
Any idea of costs (it is a 30 minute film).
Another question, I need to do some 3D effects. At what step would I do this? After Color Correcting?

Thanks for any advice.

In the RED Final Cut plugin zip file, there's a document explaining some common workflows, and I'm pretty sure that one of them is just like yours.

By the way, did you transcode the clips in Log and Transfer, or using one of RED's tools?

I used the Log and Transfer in FCP7. I had some problems though, some times it would only import half the footage, and I would have to do it again...some time lost. I could not figure out why it would do this...
Thanks I will look in the zip file and see if there is an answer to my questions

just send to color, color will automaticly change to native r3d files....if you have a looping bug, just use clipfinders Color fixer.

And in your opinion it is better to do all CC in Color than do it any in REDAlert?
It just seems that REDAlert works much easier than Color.

No, Kaya, if he transcoded to ProRes, they won't get into Color as R3D.

Use Clipfinder (free) to re-conform you edit to R3D.

And Color is much more powerful than REDAlert, but needs some learning. I recommend the DVD by Rippletraining.
