  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Last time...

Well, he DID say the first ASICs would be coming out of the oven in a about a week.... about a week ago!

They must be cooking with gas, then.

This will be the last time I post this. Those that don't own a RED ONE will wish they did.

Wow, this one line seems to have really shaken up a lot of energy. And all it is, is repeating something you've already said!

RED ONE has gotten so good, that I will be reluctant to part with it, even for something better. Like when you get your house all fixed up to sell it, and have the feeling of "Why are we moving, this place is great."

I wish I could just de-activate #1008 and keep it with my stereopticon, magic lanterns, Edison phonograph, and other vintage imaging technologies...How cool would it be to watch Antiques Roadshow circa year 2200 and see how the antique wonks would price a RED ONE from the original batch.

"It's in great condition, but it is missing the joystick. With the joystick, this would sell on the open market for $100,000 but unfortunately, without it, it will only bring something in the area of $75,000."

More likely? They'll be filming Antiques Roadshow on the RED One in 2200.

Very Nice!

Post of the week!

Should be 1st in line (in red)...

I won't sleep until EPIC-X is released.

Jim

Wow, if we could take that literally, one might assume we are hours/days away from an announcement.!

today i was thinking what were really the options when there would be no RED.

hm, i would shoot heavy compressed footage with foto lenses or i would spend a fortune on film and lab.

i am in whatever jim has in mind.

It is a figure of speech... meaning that we are working around the clock to get EPIC out the door. Don't try to guess a timetable from this post. We still have the ASIC to finish... then firmware and testing... oh, and assembly, QC and packaging. :)

My understanding was that you got all of the components ready, waiting for the ASIC to come in so then ready to start shipping.

The point of the thread is just what I said.

Jim, don't worry and you are totally right what you've said.

I'm always somehow "overdoing" the thing.

And as a side point... I really want to know what's reflected in the goggle lens facing us in Jim's avatar.

You know... to help pass the time waiting for the kewl announcements to come inhte next days/weeks/months.

4 8 15 16 23 42... Jim is like the cryptex of the RED community and certainly no one is as mysteriously vague. At this point, I'll just continue my game plan of sitting back and watching it all unfold.

Keep up the good work, Jim, et al.

waiting patiently
