Just wondering what is Red, if at all, is doing to be more "green"(or eco-friendly)?

Being a fairly niche product at the moment, I don't think it would be worth them concerning themselves with such matters at these early stages of development.

No mystery, no hidden message, RED is simply the color that represents strength, power and passion, in addition to being chosen as a favorite color by a high percentage of the population. When researching the color Red, one learns that Red "grabs attention", gets people to "take action" and suggests "speed combined with confidence and perhaps even a dash of danger", all apropos for the RED ideology.http://www.red.com/faq/page/4/

I heard that Red makes all of their sensors and internal parts out of tofu in order to reduce their carbon footprint.

Ah, you mean RED is the opposite of green?

Well they are providing an alternative to film and developing film and film chemicals.
Plus there is a tendency in their designs towards metal casings ... not plastic.
Both good things.
