  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Official Post Your DSLR Still Photography Thread

Wow Casey... love it.

I would love to see a higher resolution version of that photo.

Thanks, Roberto.

Unfortunately I don't have a better quality version of this, since the only camera I had on me at the time was a Canon SD750.

Spur of the moment. :-)

Here is a version as an embedded link:

Thought I'd add to this massive and cool thread with some recent nonsense.

An older shot from this winter out at Joshua Tree on my 350D:

Another similar shot. This one I got a better exposure and focus with:

Shot with the 24mm 1.4 Mark I at F/4. This one is not nearly as sharp as the 50mm 1.2 at F/4, but it could just be that I somehow messed up the focus on the 24mm. I would love to get another crack at a comparison between these two lenses. Usually the 24mm is sharp as a razor at anything above F/2.8.

Tom,

just took a few shots of a Sow with three cubs. It is funny how I travel all over Alaska to get shots of bears and here they are right in my own back yard. I do not have software here on this computer to down size the images. I can send them later. We are having fun with the Canon 5D. The low light shooting is great. Can not wait to try it out on the Auroras.

Awesome, Greg. Glad you are liking the 5D2!

Tom,

Was out all night. Took my step son out fishing. He caught his first King Salmon. Wished I had the camera with me. We got home at 5:00am. First thing he did was wake up him mom, my new wife. She was tired but excited about his first big fish. I had to help her take the lens cap off the 5D2. Glad I did not wake her up.

Anyway, today after a few hours of sleep we are off to pan for gold less than an hour from here. Amazing that I just now learning what is here in my own back yard.

That camera is amazing in low light. I am dreaming of RED in the future.

Best Wishes

Greg
