SOLD

Okay, here's the deal. I just bought a 7" LCD from Red last Wednesday. On Day 1 of my shoot, the gorgeous screen got a 2" scratch on it (didn't have time to get a clear cover). Doesn't effect the performance, and you can't even see it when the LCD is powered on with an image displayed (unless the scene is dark).

So if you can live with that scratch, visible only when the LCD is off, then you can buy it from me for $2000 and save $700 (500 plus tax). This LCD is less than a week old.

I'd like $2000 if possible. Please don't PM, just email me at danblanchett [at] gmail.com and include your location AND phone number.

What's the repair cost on the 7"? I know the 5" is $850. Seems like you should deduct whatever the repair cost would be.

just my .02

If I did that, I might as well repair it myself. But it's nearly have the price, and therefore not worth it to me. So I am looking for someone who wants a 7" LCD at a discount, and who doesn't mind seeing a scratch when the LCD is not in use. If no one steps up and I have to keep the LCD, then so be it... It still looks awesome and much better than the 5.6 inch.

I have practically the same scratch on my 5.6" LCD, and you seriously can't see it at all when the monitor is on, so this is a decent deal. Dan, you should post a photo of the monitor when it is on so people know what you mean.

this is why you use a clear cover on your lcd.

Final caveat: I can't be without an LCD, so if you want this one, I have to order another one and wait until it's in my possession before you can take delivery. We'll work out the details if you are interested.

I'd like $2000 if possible. If you want to pay more to be at the top of the list, feel free to make an offer! Don't PM, just email me at danblanchett [at] gmail.com and include your location AND phone number.

Agreed. I just didn't have time before the shoot, literally picking up the LCD from Red on the way to prep...

I may have a buyer though. Any recommendations on finding a suitable clear cover for my next LCD?

Thanks Julio. I may have a rental house interested. If it doesn't work out, I'll post another image next week.

I sold the LCD... thanks for all the replies. Got my brand new 7-incher and a nice new rhino glass from filmtools to protect it (until the AC rips it off).

Wish the 9" red arm was stronger-- it doesn't want to hold this monitor up when the camera is in motion, such as handheld. Can anyone recommend a more sturdy arm?
