My Birger has arrived! Q: How does one mount the Impero to the rails of my camera?

Hi all. . .

I have the Birger/Impero in my hands at last. . . and I'm about to begin the installation procedures for the Birger mount. BUT, I'm wondering if anyone has come up with an elegant solution for mounting the Impero on the side of the camera on my 19mm rails. There is a small threaded nut on the back of the Impero that might be intended for this purpose.

Finally, my Impero did not come with an antenna. What sort of antenna is one supposed to buy to put on there?

Thanks very much.

Stephen

I don't know my Birger serial number, per se, but I was one of the very first people who ordered the mount back near Thanksgiving in November 2007 (when "the deal" for the free wireless controller was first announced). I held off taking delivery until the wireless capabilities were enabled.

The serial number is engraved on front of the mount...
We ordered ours back then as well (or should I say Ketch did...). I have received it in October, but without any of the controls. No change so far...

I really hope they start sending them out next week...

The Element Technica SpeedyClamp is great for this. If you want less precision for less money, you can get a Nano Clamp from Manfrotto. Abel sells both.

Hi there, Mitch. . .

How does one attach the speedy-clamp to the Impero?

Stephen

The Speedy Clamp has a 1/4x20 thread, same as the Impero. So a small 1/4"x20 bolt wil do the trick. Five cents at your local hardware store.

Abel sells the Speedy Clamp but usually kitted with other Element Technica items such as the RED Drive Iso-Mount. You can contact any Abel Sales Rep for a quote or send me your email ad I'll ask one to contact you directly.

so in Jay's video he has it mounted....

anyone figure out the clamp and the bolt/thread combo? the one at Abel seems neat...

also any feedback on the lack of the antenna on the impero? is it not needed? any neat antenna solutions? in the pdf on the viewfactor site it show's an antenna...

thanks
Mike

Should have been an antenna in the bag that had the 4xAAA batteries... Yes you heard correctly, batteries ARE included.:hurray:

That clamp works everywhere

Sorry Mitch but after talking to the third agent i've opened the Et shop on line.

And me too was scared to death the antenna was missing. She camo perfectly in the batteries bag :-)
