I'm trying to record the on-screen menus of the camera out for some workflow articles I'm writing up. So far the best I can do is photographing directly off the RED Pro monitor.

Anyone ever successfully output the entirety of the menu display as a video signal? The HDMI puts out some of the menu but not all of it... for the help.

Menus

Menus

The HDMI puts out some of the menu but not all of it...

Yes it does, just have the PREVIEW OUTPUT setting set to MENUS (DVI)

And feed to a P.C monitor via its DVI port.

You mean go from the HDMI output of the camera to a DVI connection on a PC right? I'm trying to figure out what we have that will record that signal... :)

Remember to unplug either EVF or LCD to get the full menu display out via HDMI-DVI.

I've wasted a bit of time on that one...

Ok so we're on the set now. When we go out HDMI cable out to DVI the PREVIEW DVI signal is blank. Switch that to 720p and we get only partial menus. What could we be doing wrong?

Whatever you're using to read that DVI/HDMI signal is probably not compatible with the particular resolution the camera is feeding it.

I've had success capturing the menus over HDMI using a MultiBridge Pro.

guys i'm using intensity pro connecting the camera with an HDMI to the capture card using adobe premier cs4 v4.0.0.0 and i'm not getting one signal i've made the monitor->preview to Menus DVI and the frame rate 50 khz what am i doing wrong here?

PS: Noah can't wait to read your book but its not here in Egypt but i'm planning to buy it soon heard many great reviews about it
