Bump.

Hi there, Ryan. . .

Do the Canon L-Series lenses fit on this mount? If so, how does one adjust the aperture? I don't have any L-Series glass at the moment, but I will be buying some soon to go with the Birger. The question is this: Do L-Series lenses have a manual aperture control?

Thanks.

Stephen

Canon L-series and EF-S all fit.

Unfortunately none of the Canon EOS fit lenses have external manual aperture control. This dumb version of the mount does not allow you to control any of the lens functions. You'd have to use a separate EOS SLR body to change the aperture first. Not practical for most shoots.

However with the short FFD of Canon EOS EF mounts, you could use this mount as a cheap base to mount cheap readily adaptors from EOS EF to other lensmount types with lenses that do have external iris rings.

Also, as it doesn't involve removal of the Red PL collimation assembly, it does not void any Red warranties.

As a side note, you can also use this mount to adapt (with additional inexpensive adapters): m42 screw mount lenses, nikon lenses, leica R lenses, contax/yashica lenses, Olympus lenses, Exacta lenses, and many more (with complete focus to infinity), its really a versatile mount to have.

Sold. :)
