  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So since I am RED 1731 and I've ordered this week, I should expect shipment in late summer? Just trying to figure out if I am going to have these sooner or later this summer.

question about a rare scenario: if one buys Red One Camera body & Red Primes Set before the 29th, will that put the order on a higher priority list (considering motivated sale of both at the same time) and now technically being a red one owner?
 
Hey Alexander.. if you bought your camera at the same time as the lenses before the 29th, technically you would get locked in with a camera owner priority position, so yes, you would get the set sooner than you would if you placed the lens order without the camera.

I paid my reservation, still not sure if I'm batch #1 or not, any word on when I can expect delivery?

My plan to get them from the actual price down to the preferred Shawn price (pSp) is to rent them out all summer, so I gotta get specific with my potential customers!
 
I'm not sure if this is at all possible for you guys to say, but for some of us the $19k is a lot of money being we're a one or two-man operation. So it would be extremely nice to be able to manage our cash-flow a little with regards to this purchase. Times are difficult so timing is everything and as much as I'd like to stove away the $19k for this puchase I know that's not a viable option in my company. Would it be possible to send out a preliminary schedule after the 29th with an estimated date for final payments and delivery?

Wow, let's be super super vague. And while I kinda understand that, it still doesn't help me much. Summer around here is almost 4 months. That's a big gap of time.

This is exactly how I feel. I gotta get all my money in order to buy the primes and need to figure out a more accurate date on delivery. It would be nice to have them by the end of May as things are starting to get busy again and many of my clients want primes (really almost need them!)

Thanks for the update on the RED Pro Primes. Do all the lenses have metadata readout as standard, as with the 18-50?

So is the $19K/$23K 5/6lens set price the standard pricing or a NAB intro special limited time offer? I believe it's the former, but just wanted clarification.

No to the /i data on the RPPs, sorry David.

So let me get this straight:
The RPPs will fit perfectly for the Red One, the various Scarlets, and the Epic S35.
Will they crop the larger than 5K sensors for the Epic FF35 and Epic 645?
They don't come prepared for /i Data transfer?
Please post some sample takes!

Hi Jim,
Are you going to have a version of these lenses with dual Imperial & Metric measurements on them like Zeiss lenses have?

from what i recall ... if you recently placed your order ( as in past month ) and you have a very low camera/shipping date you are in batch 2 ... i belive batch 1 are those that placed orders back in 2007 and those orders have no connection to your camera ship date ..
