  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

UPDATE

For all of you who want to play with the GearNex geared head and talk to us personally, stay tuned on where to go at NAB. If you want to look at it and possible play with it, go to the AJA booth located in booth SL2513 to see it prominently displayed.

You can also play with the GearNex geared head and meet us at our distributor, Silverado Systems, during the RedUser Party this Wednesday in Las Vegas, NAB week.

Update 2

Just dropped off "Larry" aka GearNex #1 to AJA today. The GearNex will be prominently displayed in the middle of their booth for you to play with. I was going to wait until tomorrow to make a big announcement, but technically it is tomorrow because I am still awake, so here it goes. We will be introducing an optional swing away tilt hand wheel.

Okay, I can hear some of you now asking why didn't you include it. We considered it but it was going to cost an additional retail price of $485 to each GearNex. After many long winded meetings, we thought it wasn't worth making DVX and HVX type camera owners pay the additional amount when they probably won't need it.

So, if the tilt hand wheel extension shaft included in your purchase is not enough for you, you now can order an optional swing away tilt hand wheel. This option will be available as I stated above for an additional $485. If you already ordered one, don't worry ...... because you believed in us we are going to give it to you for FREE.

Last but not least, we will also be offering the swing away tilt hand wheel for FREE to the next 100 orders. You can place your orders via www.GearNex.com or www.Silverado.cc.

You did, congratulations Paul on a very good investment. At this rate you should have it paid off in what it would of taken to rent one for about 40 days. Considering, we designed this for longevity you made a wise choice.
 
awesome!!! any idea....certainly not looking for hard dates...but estimate on things like leveler and and tilt plate?

Paul, you blew our next surprise for later today but that's okay ..... a bubble leveler is included. Although our beta models Larry, Moe & Curly (my partner Bret's idea but I preferred Kelly, Jill, and Sabrina the original Charlie's Angels) have a 3/8 leveler at NAB, our GearNex units will ship with FREE 1/2 levelers.

As for the tilt plate, we are needing to get clearance on our design from our legal department but we are anticipating late June, if not sooner.

I don't want to say how many we are up to yet but if you order soon, you will be included. That way you and Paul can start a GearNex community in your area. :)

Running on fumes getting ready for the show, you are probably right and thanks for the help. In that case, eye piece leveler should be ready by GearNex shipping date.

BTW, we just noticed your van a little bit ago, hope to see you at the show.

Moe & Curly, GearNex models #2 and #3 just arrived in Las Vegas 30 minutes ago via my partners, Bret Allen SOC, 10 hour drive from Sacramento.

Good Morning NAB

I am excited for the people who get to play with our GearNex today at NAB and finally realize for themselves that our GearNex is not a toy from China. It is a professional Hollywood type precision geared head, designed for longevity and made in the USA for today's digital cameras.

Also, I am looking forward to the online reviews from the people who where lucky enough to get their hands on one.

I took care of the size Matt but I do like the color.

I am very surprised no one has reported back to the hive yet myself. We have been getting so many compliments and everyone is shocked with the price point versus quality. Some from very important and respected people in the trade have said they are going to be reporting positive feedback soon about the GearNex but I want them to do it, not me for them. So, you know who you are, please do it soon so the REDusers don't miss out on the show special, thanks.
