Soderbergh's Girlfriend Experience- Trailer Online

Just my opinion but this doesn't interest me in the slightest. Che on the other hand...

I'm sure that also Soderbergh doesn't give a sh** about this sort of opinion on his work anyway

Soderbergh could take a shit on a desk and film it in 4k and I'd pay $10 to see it.

Some of us are a bit more frugal with our money. But you go for it...

Simply, because somebody want it that way. :wink5:
Maybe with whole story it works very well

That's what I'm thinking. He could have shot this any way he wanted. I'm anxious to see this and I'm assuming the style and story mesh well.

Ok ok, I suppose I could find more useful ways to spend $10. Regardless, I would certainly love to see the Girlfriend Experience in the theater, haha

I've heard that the general consensus (of the visuals) out of Sundance were that the film looked absolutely amazing... I wonder if something's being lost in the processing somewhere.

And personally, I'm glad there's filmmakers out there like Soderbergh challenging the medium. If every movie looked as "polished" as a big hollywood feature, I'd get pretty bored pretty quickly. Then again, and I know I'm fairly alone on this, I thought both Collateral and Miami Vice had a gritty awesomeness to it.

And still, available light... looks pretty damn cool for available light.

Who saw Bubble? I thought it was also brilliant.

Yeah, I like what he's trying to do. Bubble had moments I don't know if any real actor would have pulled off as effectively. The story was really weak though.

I was surprised when I saw Sasha Grey's name come up on this. I happened to see a doc on the industry and they featured her. Porn Star of the year in her first year I think - and she was 18 or 19.

Notably in the doc they talk about how a lot of girls come to LA thinking they'll get into porn on their way to becoming a real actress but it never happens. I won't be surprised if this girl can actually act.

Some of the looks in the trailer didn't impress me much but I didn't hate them either. I don't think the trailer itself is very good at all. Scrap and rebuild that thing.

certainly an inspired bit of casting.

sahsa grey is one of the dirtiest porn stars like ever. :yikes:

or so i've been told.

Did anyone see his film bubble. It took awhile to get to us downunder but i thought it was great. That relationship between the kid and old women was remarkable, and what about the performances from non actors! I loved the dialogue in the scene where they were drinking from Mcdonald's cups. If his gfe it as good as bubble it should be an interesting watch.

GFE and Bubble were made under the same six-film agreement with 2929, Magnolia, Laemmle theatres (i think), and HDNet Movies to release the film day and date across all platforms. I don't know if DVD/Blu-ray is still included in that. I hope so.

Why does it look like a cheap film school shortfilm?

i'm a great admirer of yours, and a few shots (the dimly lit interiors) reminded me of your work in "The Moment After". :)

i didnt like the trailer , it looks just a video look or TV ,damn man, it is really shot on RED?

well... the Red One does shoot video (aka digital). and most primetime television dramas are shot on film. so, uh...???
agreed... not the best example of RED work :/
he could of used a dvx100 and had similar results

I'd imagine that this is likely in the top ten of films shot on Red. definitely less commercial looking and maybe not one for the year end Red Reel, but far and away superior to Knowing, My Bloody Valentine, ER, and most of the forgettable works listed on the official "Shot on Red" page.
