  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

18-85's

I am sure there are many more, right behind the pallets of Epics and Scarlets... you guys just keep ´em to yourselves...

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is the close focus limit on this lens?

Thanks Janne, I'll sometimes use my 18-85 without MB, so I need a adapter solution for standard 138mm filters. Are there any other suggestions?

I'm guessing 24 per pallet. 96 in the 4 that we see.

i am waiting for number 405.

I'm curious as to why there's barbed wire inside the shipping area.

Usually barbed wire keeps electrics and grips away from electrical panels (for a limited amount of time), so I guess it's not that important. Probably the coffee machines or something.

Or maybe it's a VIP lounge for Sony reps...

Tis common to have a secure area in a shipping room for valuable things. When you have millions worth of cameras and lenses you lock em up, under guard and key.

This is so mean,

I want one so bad it is truly no even funny.

The 18-85 not only is an incredible zoom, but it is by far the absolute best in its range, including the LWZ, and the Rouge, I'm sure that if RED was to make a comparable zoom range to that of the ARRI MZ, it will be also bad A%@!!

Any way, one of this will make a new addition to my new lens collection, right next to the set of new RPP's and the 300 Pro.

ciao

buying unseen?

buying unseen?

where can the 18-85 be tested prior to purchase? Likewise with the prime lens sets?

Someone wrote a post about buying prudence.

Its probably not prudent to buy lenses unseen and untested so I wonder what Red has in place to allow customers to inspect and project?

Cheers

Hey James,

Good to see you on here, finally, hope things are going well. Give Alan Piper a ring in Pinewood. Extremely helpful and a wealth of experience. I've heard some rumours that someone up here is going to be testing RPP's so they must be available for this, or it could ne the usual BS. I'll let you know if it happens.
