Yes, you can only put the connector in one way. Yes, it's really in there!

You did NOT fail.. If you want the distance to work well swich to feet and then hold down the center button I think for like 2 seconds. Then that will do an extended focus calibration and your distance should be correct then.
This mount has more options that you can see at first glance.. It's tough.

If you don't have an Impero yet, you can still use Jay's collimation method by using Birger App on a computer (with bluetooth) to control focus. If set up correctly, both the App and the /i data will report accurate focus distances.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Also, I purchased a Ztudio from Zacuto that solves the ET EVF mount problem a little more elegantly IMO. It allows the EVF to be mounted anywhere on a 19mm rod so you can get the EVF into a handheld friendly position.

Yes. this is in part 2 at the end
Do you have an impero?
If not, what are you using to focus the lens with?

You were using a different part. The Ztudio is a new part. I think I got the first one.
Current version of the software, focus distance is always a function of what the motors are doing. In the next version of the software, if the lens is set to "MF" we will output one of the "tick" marks straight from the lens, rather than interpolated distances. You will only get one of 16 or 32 unique numbers in this scenario, but I suspect it will be slightly less nerve wracking than a "stuck" readout. If the switch is set to "AF" it will have the current behavior, and you will need to be controlling the focus with an Impero, a Mac or a PC, to get the numbers to change.
