New round of changes...

We have just made a number of final changes to our program. It has become clear that our competition is finally paying attention to what we are doing so this time we will NOT announce what the changes are.

I will say the following:

1. No negative price/performance changes.
2. Only positive feature and system changes.
3. No additional slip to the target schedule.

If our competition is shooting at us, they will be shooting at where we were and not where we are going to be.

Speculation is dangerous because people post what they think or hope and others read it as fact. Just know that every time we change something, it gets better.

I think it will be a while before the competition can make a product to compete with the RED ONE's quality/price point. I can't imagine how they could be competing with the DSMC system.

When you say that you won't announce what the changes are, do you mean on here or at the NAB party? If neither, I would assume full specs to be released at or near the time of release.

Funny how just the other day I was remembering how exciting it was before the previous announcements of changes, with all the close-up pictures and waiting to find out what exactly was changing.

It's good to know that we'll have a better camera, and that it will still be out fairly soon. And it's great that we'll be blown away with new changes when we finally find out what they are.

I'm thinking of that Hornblower episode, where he evades a French frigate by tacking, waiting for the frigate to follow, then tacking again at the last possible moment, and his enemy wanting to follow, but leaving him trundling helpless in the wind.

... 'Hornblower on the Hotspur', I think. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anyway, Jim's probably right to keep his cards to his chest.
