  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scorpion...

Reminds me of the robot from Red Planet with Val Kilmer. Remember that flick? I enjoyed it...

Exactly!.. same impression. The desert helps make the connection.
Ah! Her name was "AMEE." Awesome...

Hey Jim, back in November you said 1,048,576 configurations... Looks like it's increased significantly :)

Also- is that the first time we've seen the battery module facing the smart side? Don't we usually see them on the dumb side? It'd be sweet if it could go either way. Or maybe they pass all the way through.

or maybe... there are more than 2 batteries in it :)

Super sweet! ...Looks like its good real character. Loving the EVF too.

I have been posting the grabs on my facebook in excitement and making little comments about the Scarlet. This is out of excitement and to indoctrinate the non-believers. I've had some quite funny comments from people who have no interest in filmmaking or photography. for example: "I have no idea what that means, and no idea what it does but I want one...now!"

That's the ENTIRE point. There's going to be a WHOLE lot of that in coming years. I work in the studio system now, and I truly feel like the next generation. It is SO ON.

THANKS JIM! For real.

I'm guessing this is how RED is going to get around the Battery size issue with mailing/flying? Make smaller batteries, then they won't be restricted as much. Either way, I'm all for smaller batteries as long as they're easy to swap, each have their own readout for power and charge quickly.

Matt worked overtime to do this. Was he paid overtime? ;-)

Great idea and FX work.

After that SF excursion let's go back to the real world situation.
