cool stuff. I am about to work on a martial arts feature as well with a film company that sold their last martial arts flick to the Weinsteins. http://www.dragondynasty.com/films/show/110

It's such tough work..shooting nicely choreographed scenes without your actors getting hurt in the process. easier said than done.

Good luck with your project and keep us in the loop!

Hey tonaci!

Thank you so much for your wishes and for apreciating our effort in martial arts filmmaking!

We definitley will keep you posted on our progress! We would love to hear more about your project too.

Hi Arend. Yes, two of the main stars from the rebel will be in the upcoming martial arts flick. I will definitely blog about it from location. I will be camera operating and actioncammin.

Thank you so much for your wishes and for apreciating our effort in martial arts filmmaking!

No doubt man, I give you much respect for taking on the challenge of shooting one. Out of curiosity, have their been many martial arts movies from germany?

We definitley will keep you posted on our progress! We would love to hear more about your project too.

thanks..I'll post up some reports from the set once we start kicking into gear.

you should also hit up twitchfilm.net to promote your movie. that website features news about international films..including alot of martial arts flicks from around the globe.

Nice footage arend, could I ask what framerate did you shoot this at?

Thanks

Thank you everybody! Glad you like it!

To answer your questions:

Shot at 24 frames (for possible 35mm transfer) -
some slow-mo's were shot at 100 frames with 2K

DI in Redcine, 10 bit DPX.

Grading in Combustion - supported by Laguun. ( www.laguun.de )

Used Zeiss HS lenses.

The footage you see was shot by the extraordinary and brilliant DOP Konstantin Freyer! Check out his website www.konstantinfreyer.com and his other work with the red!

Grading was the work of color specialist Jan Yorick von Krogh ( www.laguun.de ) and Konstantin Freyer!

This is some amazing shit! I've been into fight movies my entire life and am excited to one day make my own. Seeing stuff like this just makes me so pumped to do something like that again! I wish you guys the greatest luck in success with your film!

You guys all have me beat.
I just shot a martial arts (training video for myself) on my mother in laws Digital 8 cam-corder. (I kid you not, Im embarrassed to admit it.) :D

Peace

dAlen

The trailer looks great ... though it is kind of strange to see the interrogation and then a fight, back and forth... I keep wondering how we got from point A to B

'THE REBEL' looks pretty insane... those are some hard, real-looking, dusty head hits... who knew that people's heads were naturally so dusty?
