Is anyone having problems with L&T not loading the clips ? I ve got a pretty fast machine, quad core, with a 4gb fibre channel raid, and sometimes it loads the clips and sometimes it does not ! why ?

Can you describe the problem a bit more detailed?
- The clips can't be selected?
- They import, but throw an error?
- They crash?
- They import, but are damaged or incomplete?

Same problem here
fcp 6.0.5 and fc studio plug in 1.0
when i try to load the clips nothing happens, but if i leave the log and transfer window open, after 5-10 mins they load and everything work perfectly.

I have already reinstalled the fc studio plugin, now i'm going to repair permissions

edit:
after repairing permissions and rebooting the problem still persists..
I'm working on 2 different MacPro 2.8 Ghz quad core 12 GB Ram osx 10.5.5 fcp 6.0.5 aja kona 3

I get no error at all, just nothing, its very frustating.
I am looking into file structure for the files and see if this makes a difference. It is important to say that I havent change anything, the files are coming straight from the camera/client !

Do you try to choose the clips or the parent folder (the digimag folder) ?

Im having the same issue. FCP 6.05, RED 1.0. QT 7.5.

I can see the RED plugin in FCP but whenever I look for my Red files i see nothing. Just an empty folder. Tried firewire drives, internal drives in my mac pro etc no luck. Just no visible files. Ive used L&T before with P2 and worked great so for the time being Im using RED Rushes, but if it is 10 times quicker to use L&T I want to go that way.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Justin

under some conditions [on which I can't fully identify -- lots and lots of clips maybe?] I've seen some sluggishness in the L&T bringing in volumes for previewing. note that we're not talking minutes here, more like seconds, 10's of seconds. did you give things a chance to settle?

Yeah I get the same problem with the FCP installer not doing anything. It worked the first time I installed it to test it out but now its doing nothing at all and I have tried reinstalling and rebooting... nothing works.

Any special chracters in some of your paths or filenames? In my experience Mac OS X is still purring along more reliably if you use UNIX naming conventions…

Im using a firewire external drive or e-sata internal on my mac pro with a folder containing R3D files and proxies. I point L&T at the folder and it shows nothing, 1 min later still nothing, 10 mins later still nothing.

What files types should it be seeing? R3D's? This wasn't covered very precisely in the white paper. Are there any special circumstances or musts in storing the media? Which file types I should be trying to import etc?

So far all my RED/FCP efforts have involved me using the normal import methods to import Proxies made in RED Alert. I have blackmagic installed, just to let you know.

thanks
J.

when mounting a red volume (folder containing red clips) you should browse to either the RDM or the RDC folder. Alternatively, you can open the L&T window and, from the Finder, drag and drop the RDM or RDC folder onto the browser pane of the L&T window.

Also had problems loading footage!

At some point I realised that I had a very Unix unfriendly folder name.

Changed the name in the finder and every thing worked

fcp 6.05, QT 7.5.5 and RED plugin

best

Paul,

Can you tell me what you change the folder name from and to?

Thanks,

Craig

Same problem here! After installing red fcp plugin, L&T isn't working with both RED and P2 footage!

I reinstalled everything (starting from the os) and, until i installed RED software, everything was working fine!

2x2.8 quad core 12 gb ram 10.5.6 fcp 6.0.5

L&t opens and after a few seconds I get the color wheel. nothing helps it rolls and rolls. It did work perfect until a few days ago.

tried reinstalling the installer.

any suggestions?

8 core fast fiber channel raid 12gb ram.

Same exact clip files?

Yes same clips same directory.

I trashed FCP preferences and now I get L&T to open, when adding a P2 directory everything is fine. Trying to add a RED directory ( same directories that worked a few days ago) FCP becomes iresponsive.

edit:

Just realized that Redrushes does not render any more, 1 frame per clip shows no matter where the directory is and no weird characters in the path or directory name.

This two might be related!?

Any ideas?

Thanks.
