I've had the following problem:
when stop recording long clips, registering with build 17 and hard drive, tha camera does not stop. Just have to shut down the camera then. Doing that, the result is that the clip file is interrupted in the middle, and no proxies.
I thought it was a software problem, may be about creating proxies. I tried with different cameras that always worked fine, but the problem is the same.
Hard drive damaged?

If you're recording a long file, then it will probably take a long time to "post," during which time the camera will still appear to be recording. It will say "POST" instead of "REC" at the bottom, and eventually it will be done and ready to go again.

Have you given it ample time to finish writing the files?

With "long file" i also mean 1 minute lenght file. I also wait 3-4 minutes in which the camera is in post, with no result.

Have you tried reinstalling the current build? Doing so typically sorts out such problems. I remember having something similar many moons ago on an earlier build. Reinstalling fixed it if memory serves.

Thats not right! Is there a problem with the card or drive? Can you try a different one? If that doesn't help then I would re-Install your build! If that doesn't work contact RED.

Good luck!

Hi Christian,

If you've isolated it to a specific REDraid, it would be good to contact support and have them look at it.

Thanks,

Deanan

I don't have much to offer in the way of help, as I just upgraded to Build 17 today, but I was testing my 16GB cards and filled them both to capacity several times. I was recording in 4K and my files were right around ten minutes. I transferred them off the cards to a hard drive and verified a few of them in camera playback.

This probably doesn't help you other than to know it's not a fatal flaw in Build 17 and hopefully can be isolated.

I also didn't notice any ridiculous post times. On a few of the takes I even ran the media down to the 2% auto-stop.

Sounds like a variation of the "post" bug that's been around for a good long time now... one that seems to like to strike at random. It's all but solved these days, but in your case it sounds like a drive issue as Deanan mentioned.

I reinstalled build 17 and now all seems to work fine. The strange thing is that i rented out the drive, and i had the same problem on a different camera. May be on that camera also there was the same firmware.
Now i made a 20' clip that goes in post for 3-4 seconds, and then camera works right.
