4K Challenge - 72hr RED Film Competition

Lol, I get you! I've done my share of planning no-pay shorts and had to deal with all sort of situation, like the main actress letting us down... 24 hours before starting to shoot.

Yeah, this 4K challenge short is pretty damn cheap on our end. Everyone is donating time and gear. The only pay involved is I'm feeding any cast and crew members who are present when we call for food. I have zero actors who have committed, just a handful of "maybes". But I do have some crew members with acting ability and experience. I guess I'll see how it goes. I haven't roughed out any scripts. I have some story ideas, most just jotted down as a sentence or two but a couple are much more than that.

Anyway, I guess it is part of the fun...

It's an adventure!

I am with you Jeff, everyone I have on my crew is donating time and equipment... It will be a really fun adventure. I'm excited!

Hi, I would like to enter the 4K challenge, yet I don't own a red.

Regardless, I can output 4K. Does this count?

Or does it have to be on a RED.

FYI I don't have a dalsa or arri or anything huge. Yet if 4K is the only requirement, then I'm in. I can do it at home for cheap.

Yes? No? How do i sign up if I'm in lebanon?

Read the requirements at www.4kchallenge.com -- 90% or more of the finished product must be shot with the RED One. No one is delivering 4K for this competition.

Hey Mike,

I registered my team. Just wanted to know if I should expect a confirmation e-mail saying that you have my team's registration, or just wait until Friday. Thanks!

Justin

Hey Justin,

I sent you a confirmation yesterday, didn't you receive it? I have you logged in our system and personally sent the email. I'll resend to justin@digitalshakedown.com
Can you confirm this email is correct for you?

I really hope this doesn't mean I have to shave ... :cold:

No please don't shave! We've re-cast you as the creepy homeless guy living in an alley dumpster. You can still dress in drag as you see fit for the role.
:)

Uh... I'm actually not kidding. :shiftyph34r:

Hey guys, I suggest you all give up on this challenge, and let us win. You don't stand a chance anyway, why fight?

On a more serious note (I was joking before, you did realize, right? ...right!?), I hope you guys managed to get things the way you want (or as close as possible) and I wish you all good luck.

Alright, just one question, regarding the phrase we have to include. We live in a place where people speak french. Let's say we decide to make our film in french and put subtitles in there, would that count? Or does the film HAS to be in english, spoken english, that is.

Oh and another question, when you say "use one of..." does that mean "at least one" or "one and ONLY one", either for the phrase or the prop.

Thanks, good luck everyone, even if you don't stand a chance. Mwhouahahahaa

You may use any native language you wish in your film as long as you subtitle it in English.

You must use One of each the props and Phrase. You may use more if you wish, but only one of each is required!

Good Luck!
