Just in case anybody is not aware - Antics3D - my favorite pre-viz app just went to a new version - 3 - check it out - this application is fun, and will save you tons of money on your next film - it is PC only - but runs just great on a 17" MP running bootcamp - pays for itself the first job you use it on -

Not even $999 it looks like they reduced the normal price to $645.

I remember it used to be something like $2400 when it first came out and I just dismissed it because I would do it in Max/Character Studio for $2500.

Is the basic pack sufficient to evaluate it?

I guess my memory must have been pretty distorted. Cut me some slack it was like ages ago (or maybe 2-3 years). ;)

How does it compare to frame forge 3D? I played around with frame forge but found it super clunky and slow. From the example vids this looks a lot more slick.

Setup and 'shot' a reallly really stupid scene in about 30 minutes (about 90% set creation).

I would definitely rather build all the props in Max and import than use the cubes and what not.

Is there a way to import walls and floors from Max too?

I find it a bit odd that doors aren't included in the demo. But it was, I suppose, enough for me to project my imagination into what it could do if it was full of props and what not. I think we'll definitely pick up a copy and give it a try. Interface is pretty slick and works very well for what it needs to do.

Chuck I'm not sure I understand the question. Antics is a storyboarding/pre-viz app.
