I just shot a bunch of footage. It was a fairly dark and contrasty setup, but the footage looked pretty good in the evf. But when I play the proxies back or look at it in redalert it's MUCH darker than what I saw while shooting. Also noisy as hell. It's 2K which doesn't help the noise. Any thoughts? I might add that I metered the scenes at 320, and there should have been plenty of stop..

Hm. Weird that its darker in Redalert. Your proxies files will always look a lot darker than how you shot them, especially if you are working in little to no light to begin with. Try running and outputting the footage through Redcine or Color and see how that looks.

How do you reset redalert?

It may be useful for folks to shoot a MacBeth color chart and a grey scale at an "optimal" ASA rating (let's say, 320 or 250 ASA), one in 5500K and the other in 3200K light, process them (correctly), and store them as reference clips for future incidents where a processed shot seems noisier or darker or softer, etc. than it should be.

It's also important to note that there is an intensity setting (basically back light) for the EVF and it can be "dialed up."
