Curt, Sorry for the de-rail. It was just too good to pass up.

I wonder if I could get richcam1's avatar girl in the Santa outfit to flag down UPS & FedEx drivers for me so I could get my motor sooner...

Really looking forward to having the unit on my rig.

Ha Ha Ha, I love my Santa Girl but have you seen my UPS drivers? ;)

If you are using a single motor package on the camera it is good to know about this current draw issue as you may want to get a DTAP cable if you are going to be running in low temperatures - the Red Camera aux port can only do 1.5A before it taps out.
Curt, I have three Imperos and five Inclinos across two orders, but I didn't buy any DTAP cables to go with them as there wasn't any info on needing them for more than one motor at the time. If I buy three today via your website, will they ship with the original orders?

Thanks,

Paul

Same question here: how can I add a DTAP cable to my existing order?

Below -5C is just not known, its as low as we could go with our chamber. I'm sure it would continue to work but we need to do more research. One thing to note is that the current draw starts climbing as the temperature decreases and current decreases as temperature increases. So if the motor is drawing 1A at room temperature then it might draw 0.5A at 100F and 1.5A at 32F. This is mainly due to the grease we are using for the harmonic drive... when it gets cold the viscosity decreases so the motor has to work harder to turn. Josh is trying to track down some grease that hass more consistency over wide temperature ranges but its tricky finding stuff that works well and doesn't cost $2k per 8 oz. tube.

hey curt, would be fine just to get that dtap cable for free...you know i paid the full price 6 months ago without knowing about it. Did i say 6 months...hehe

if i would wire the money for the dtap the wiring would cost me more then the cable i guess...hehe.

Anything ship today?

Quick update... We got the thermal interface material but hit a snag on the pins for the output hubs (the thingies that transfer torque to the lens gear). It looks like they sent us the over sized versions instead of the normal ones so they are about .001" too big for the holes. I ordered the correct ones so we will have them in the AM. On another note, the imperos are going to be assembled this afternoon .... We'll take some pictures and video tonight of system functioning. I'm close to finalizing the code for the Birger mount so I think we'll post some video of Impero controlling the Birger as well. Hang on a little longer, we're really close.

On the subject of DTAPs... send an email to us at info@viewfactor.net and just say you want a DTAP.. we'll add it to your order and just invoice you.

Hey, Curt. Do you have an idea yet of the price to upgrade the Impero that will come with the Birger mount to work with both your motors and the Birger?

Geez, Rowland. . . what do you mean "hope it doesn't become another Birger mount situation"?????

I was originally supposed to be getting the VF system for my film that started shooting in mid-May. . . and FINISHED shooting on September 1st. Now I'm worried if it will get here in time for my next film.

So, our Impero/Inclino is being shipped today, I'll have it tomorrow, I'll post pics and video of it as soon as it comes back from a rental it's going on, so there might be others that post sooner. Curt sounded happy to finally be able to ship. He said he'll be shipping either today or tomorrow, so those low serial number people should be getting them in a few days.

quick question

is there a way to have separate remotes on same rig
and do others think this way
one motor one control for focus
and one motor one control for zoom
for that occasional shot where you want two ac's pulling
one pulling focus and the other zooming

thanks

Wow, thanks.
Anyone knows how many units are in line?
I really don't remember my #'s...

From what i remember last week, I believe that 10 will ship out before production begins to ramp up. However, I could be wrong.

Units are going out tomorrow.... we are just working through the last minute stuff that always comes up like forgetting to order 4-40 screws or bearing washers etc. , at least there are no longer any major mechanical/hardware issues to deal with. I also spent a couple days this last weekend to ensure that the Birger mount control would work and it is smooth as silk on my brothers 17-85 canon lens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceNbZxFnVTw

Great Demo
