The new price for the 8x Zoom Scarlet - $3750 for a complete kit? What does that mean? What do you get other than the lens and brain???

LCD, maybe grip, cabels, ... etc.
Just basics needs for ready to shoot

there was no rush - just curious.

Thanks for the replies.....

Quite unsure what "finder" is?
Bomb EVF or small 3" LCD?
I expected that Bomb EVF will be kinda more pricey than under $750

I prefer 4,8"LCD

Would be interesting to see what others are expecting the complete kit to include:

Power (1 battery + charger)
Finder (EVF or LCD?) (Small 3" LCD expected)
Media Module (including flash card?) (Unlikely)

Also:

Grip/Handle
A/V inputs/outputs (built in?)
On board camera controls (Fly-by-wire?)
Remote (Unlikely)

I have a feeling some features will be built into the fixed lense Scarlet that will become available as modules when upgraded to an interchangeable brain.

Pure speculation here. Very happy with the $3750 price, whatever the complete kit includes.

I'll be very happy if this is what the complete kit fixed lense Scarlet looks like:

Sorry for being dumb, I just saw the battery goes inside the handle, so handle could be included. Handle also has on board controls, looking good!

If the complete Kit ...

If the complete Kit ...

and the Facts remain like this when the cam will be avaible, i would love to buy it as my small privat camera.
Would be great!

If this is the complete kit then i`m not satisfied.. I want to shoot video not pictures on it.. if i wanted to shoot pictures i rather get canon or nikon..

What were you expecting/hoping to see?

I don't think fixed lens scarlet is getting any of the modules meant for the other cams. although Im sure they can be used to soup it up , they may have a handle in mind that does controls, power and storage of CF cards but isn't usable with anything else

I would think the media module would allow one to record video. I mean, digital cinema.

I'm concerned about that vertical orientation. The bottom of the camera has such a small flat area that it will be hard to mount it securely and tightly enough, and vibration will be amplified by the distance between the lens and the narrow base.

Maybe both 2/3 scarlets will share some modules, the reason I assume the 1st render posted is the fixed lense is the deeper body for the zoom. Whether it is the complete kit or not we don't know. It appears to include a wireless remote. So fingers crossed!

Power, media module and finder were mentioned. Will fly-by-wire controls and media module or battery be merged, also available for interchangeable 2/3?

To me this looks like a render for interchangeable 2/3 (shallower body). See base of render, perhaps - + zoom/focus controls?

So far I hadn't heard that the 2/3 interchangeable scarlet is fly by wire too, although it makes sense

Update from Jim:
Base Model... recording module on left side. LCD is placeholder. If this leads to a thousand questions, I will stop posting these. Lots of time for more info.

Seems to be complete kit, more info to come.

The open question is what kind of audio support? Will it be necessary to add the I/O module for that?

I don't think RED would sell us a "Complete Kit" that didn't have sound recording capabilities. I suspect that one of the 3 connectors on the lower back of the brain (maybe the middle one?) will take a break-out cable for XLR stereo in.
