  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ok, that's exactly my ABSOLUTE perfect camera for $3,750 BUT...

Stupid questions I have to ask:

- So that means a 2/3" Scarlet has a full frame sensor inside which is only used when you switch to FF1080P?

- And I supose that means you have to change the zoom to a full frame lens when you want to shoot full frame...

Am I correct?
see post #273 three pages before.

dumb question time

What is "Fly-by-wire" exactly? a remote control or something?

QuadHD

QuadHD

What is QuadHD

QuadHD means the camera is recording at 3840 x 2160 pixels RAW.

This scales 2:1 in your post production software to directly generate 1920 x 1080 RGB.

Or on a 1:1 conversion it generates a 3840 x 2160 pixel RGB image.

I definitely applaud what you're doing. Nice design, nice specs, nice offer to Red One owners. I think you've gone above and beyond the call of duty there. However, if you're going to be that accommodating to begin with, I'd love to see the EPIC X with FF35 option, which would be the same as the regular EPIC X option, but with a price change.

Otherwise, I'll be tempted to upgrade to EPIC X, then be dissapointed when it won't support Monstro. (Meaning, I'll just wait for FF35 and not get the package option).

Stephen... you are beginning to get piss me off. There are major features shot on Mysterium RED ONEs. And you are disappointed with Mysterium-X which has more DNR and higher frame rates than a RED ONE? What are you shooting? What camera do you have now? What are your other options?

Just curious...

Jim

Jim, this was expected... You guys have done an excellent job, keep focused on that... :w00t:

This is nice and I bet it will be very fast too.

so if fixed scarlet kit is $3750 , presume it has I/O , Battery and Recording Modules , can these be used on the other scarlets that would give you fixed 2/3 scarlet and an s35 scarlet for like 11k

For the people who made this even better.

Shut up, just shut up... You had me at hello, You had me at hello...

Why wouldn't Epic-X support an eventual Monstro upgrade?

First off, I am so excited and AMAZED by all of this. Unfortunately my budget puts me in the 2/3 Scarlet range (which isn't really unfortunate, considering how amazing they will be). But I'm just curious, the 2/3 Scarlets don't carry the DSMC label in the renders. Does this mean they won't have still capturing capability? Or am I just reading too much into the labeling?

FF35 for $9750 down from 12K very sweet indeed!

(sensibly adjusted scope of frame rate; cool)

Countless hours of hard work from many have contributed to making this program happen. RED is a collection of the most talented people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.

Mr Jannard.. Mr Pruitt is asking the obvious.. see Mr Kilgroe, indie rentals and more to come..

edit
you won't have other choice unless to listen more whining from others too.. your offers are smart ones.. including the bit rate reduction at scarlets..
but after promoting the 16-bit 14 stops monstro.. and have democratized this business.. what are you expecting for?

Can someone explain to me the meaning Redcode in layman's terms? Scarlett Monstro is 100, the S35 and Monstro is 225, but the Epic X is 250 (we get rewarded with more/better Redcode).

How does it translate into image quality or workflow or... ?
