How will the BombEVF compare to my current EVF?

There is plenty of room... but you can do what you want.

dont worry Boris... you can orient the LCD anyway you want.
I too, am a huge fan of waist level finders/shooting.
Lots of ways to do this...

Love the modular concept.![]()
You probably already have this wired but just wanted to mention that it would be great if the intra-module connection design would allow rigging to a steadicam unit where the lens/brain/MB was on top and the batteries/recording media/lcd/io was on the sled (I actually like having the LCD part way up the post, especially viable with the featherweight RED LCDs, kudos BTW). IO could ride on top as well if necessary, just hoping that some sort of multi-pin connector cable could be routed down the post kinda like the Action-Cam unit to reduce cable clutter & total weight.
Also interested in being able to put more of the modules behind my shoulder for HH balance since the brain, lens, EVF and MB kinda have to be out front. I'm sure you are all over this, just getting my 2 cents in. Very excited about the direction the design is going in - flexibility rocks!
ha ha ha.. get 1000 of your friends together with some burning pitchforks and then we will talk![]()
I had a similar idea and posted a thread not too long ago:
http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22605
I've been thinking about different types of Camera Mounting setups (such as Low Hats, Cranes, Helicopter Rigs, etc.) and it occurred to me that building the DSMC modules towards the back might not always be desired.
I propose that RED also offers a 90 degree (Top side or Bottom side) Module Adapter that would allow you to build on the accessory modules vertically (above or below the Brain.)
There would be two Module adapters each shaped like an "L" which would connect on the back of the DSMC and then snugly wrap around either the top or bottom to extend the module connection. (This could possibly be done with one Adapter that flipped upside down, depending on the connection on the back of the Brain.)
What do ya think?
Lots of ways to do this...

Will the audio module have a:
1. (smart side) manual dial or knob for adjusting audio levels on the fly?
2. backlight audio LCD panel
Thanks
Was just looking at this pic wondering, what happen if I connect cables to all connectors? When I reach for the handle I have to go thru all cables, pointing out to the right. I saw a wonderful in-between design of Epic with connectors pointing outward and back.
I realize that the remote can be placed anywhere, but a more slimmed design will make so much better when shooting in difficult situation and not just controlled environment.
..and another question, how well do all this parts fit together? Is there a chance it will fall in to pieces if a attach the camera to rough shaking place. I really dislike ripping the handle off the cam when picking it up
..and how dust proof is it? Many cams have rubber plugs for sealing open parts and unused connectors.
..and a-bit off topic on the tread, but continue on the dust issue. I noticed a funny thing with the new 18-85 mm lens. If I put my hand on it and zoom back and forth, I can feel the air going in and out the lens. Probable just the glass moving and pushing the air around but can dust enter the lens this way? I have not noticed this with any other lenses that I have using. When we just got the lens here, I looked very closely at the front lens with a powerful led-light and I found the lenses to be perfect. Now a few week with using the 18-85, I can clearly see particle inside the lens. I have seen this before, but then the lenses have been a few yeas old, not weeks. .. but maybe I'm looking TOO close
Cheers!
