  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Amazing Red team. Congrats, you guys have done some gutsy things.

I have not read any of this thread. Not caught up in the hype. Just seen photos. Jim, you are a fucking genius. Other than that, for the first time in my life i am speechless. Enjoy it while it lasts...

The distance between what the customer can imagine and
what RED can deliver is widening.

I can tell Jim is having the time of his life ... and the whole red team are on that roller coaster. Wow !

I wonder what the doubters will say now?
It's a scam. They'll never deliver on time. ;)

Jim, RED team...I am grateful for what you have done and continue to do to the world of digital cinema, you have changed everything. I must admit I am bit overwhelmed at the moment...but this is to be expected when you rock the boat...err..sink the ship.

I think I am leaning towards the EPIC FF35 6k 1-100fps but in the meantime I will cherish the days of my R1.

Cheers.

I knew it, I knew it, 3D! Boy and I was going to buy the SI-2K at one point. This totally it so much better priced.

As far as upgrading to different sensors, I don't think the 645 Mysterium Monstro will be out for 3 years. There is just to much to digest in the meantime and plenty to work with.

As far as the shots with the matte box and such, I doubt Red will create those in house. They were just there for looks. Don't want to mix people up with a big release and have multiple manufacture names on stuff.

I would be totally satisfied with a scarlet S35. And I know from buying accessories for Red One that the price you see here......................well there will other items you will need if you don't have them already..........................but at least you can get a beautiful tripod to support your system for $4000 with legs as opposed to $8000, taking into account the weight you have to support.

I look forward to being offered my option as a Red One owner. We are already on the list!

I'm with you, Haskell. . . that will be, by far, the most popular of the Epic configurations.

And remember, the theaters are just now going to 4K projectors (that process will take at least five years to complete). . . it will be over a decade before TVs go to 4K. . .

Stephen

What!

I woke up saw you guys went Crazy.........Love it

can anyone imagine the choices? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! even 3D!!!!

 Breathtaking news!...Thank you!
but (I´m sure this is already mentioned) I would like to see some specs of Monstro (16bit, 13+ stops, maybe 500ASA, less noise) with the size of S35mm. Could even stay "only" 4K.

Marc (still in love with my Red1)

Amazing. Really looking forward to this in 2009. But what I mainly hope for NOW is a date when this will happen:

A quote from our friends at Adobe...

"RED and Adobe share the goal of enabling the most advanced tapeless post-production workflows in the industry. With native support for RED R3D files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Adobe Encore CS4, and Adobe After Effects CS4, Adobe is furthering the integration of tapeless camera formats into its line of professional video products, and making post-production workflows faster, more flexible, and more efficient. RED's Digital Cinema camera line, the new RED plug-in, and Adobe video tools provide an exceptional solution for video professionals who want to harness the full potential of raw digital cinematography while tapping the efficiency of tapeless workflows."

Just read all 156 pages. Amazing...

Does this RED Drive look a bit different to you guys?

The lemo plug looks much smaller that on the current ones. I'm sure this means absolutely nothing but thought I'd point it out anyway just incase it sparked of some importance for someone else.

Congratulations Red team if you actually can pull this together in such a short timeframe.

It's going to be a promissing year for this industry and I can't wait to get my hands on one of these systems.

It's great and to me it seems you made it yourself quiet complicated to chose different lens options and qualities instead of only offering 2 models , one consumer and one high-end user based.

I hope you can get on track and deliver us some incredible shipping dates according to what's mentioned in the sheet,
also i hope the epic with higher data rates will keep up with systems like Scratch and be supported all the way almost immediately when owners take possession of them instead of what happened with red one.

I suppose your in a different position right now then where you were the first time, so i hope it's possible to give 3rd parties or maby Assimilate the SDK way before bad rumours are heading the surface...

With the new lens systems I hope it will come together as well with the cameras when they are released.

Finally I can't express how much I love this company and the future it will have....

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!!!!!!!

I'd be really surprised if Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Panavision, Arri, Dalsa, and everyone else did not pee their pants this morning in fear.... This is absolutely amazing.

Obsolescence here is only obsolete within RED, because as soon as these cameras become available, the rest of the industry becomes obsolete.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how you can configure your camera to be however you like. That is HUGE. It makes RED not just more accessible for me, but more personal as well.

And 28 FREAKIN K!! I USED TO THINK 4K WAS A BIG DEAL..........

Thank-you, Jim (and the rest of the RED team :) ) for thoroughly wetting my pants for me this morning.

Unbelievable

Unbelievable

Jim and everyone at RED. You have just obliterated the bar I had set in my expectations. You were right, I'm blown away and I love what you've done. This is more than just a poke in the eye to the slow, creeping, planned-obsolescence approach of other manufacturers, this is a full-body slam off the top ropes.

Thank you for listening and responding. You even incorporated ideas that I thought were over the top back when I was first reading what people were asking for. Unbelievable.
