I recently had the chance to work with "Germany's next topmodel" (season 2) Barbara. She agreed to do a little "motion test" with the RED camera. Since she's a redhead it all kinda made "sense" :sarcasm: ... shot on build 17 with red drives in 2k and 3k with only the 18-50mm lens ... (still waiting on birger to come thru) ... editing FCP, ProResHQ, finishing AE ... I just love this camera... Thank you Red Team!

Great demo of the camera and your talents.

Can you tell me more about how you achieved this shot (because it is awesome):

Thank you so much!

Well, I basically used 2 2.5 ARRI HMIs and 2 575 HMIs - each with softboxes.
This frame was shot at 2k @100fps with the 18-50 at 50mm (I think...) shutter @ 100... what else ... handheld, lens wide open ... final grading with After Effects (Color Finesse), retouching with travelling mattes and finally some regraining.

Why is the shutter at 100? I would have expected 200 (haven't found out about varispeed settings yet).

well, I shot at 100fps, so 1/100s is the slowest shutterspeed the camera would "allow". In other words: "maximum motion blur" :usd:

I can see the reflection of one of the softboxes in her eye. Where were the other lights positioned? Thanks for the info! Beautiful close-up!

The fabric flowing images are great but I would have liked to see a bit more of the model, the colors on her dress and herself are beautiful and we just get too short a glimpse of that. Great clip, nice work!

Great images. I agree with Rudi about wanting to see more of the model. Beautifully shot!

As it is, it's an excellent perfume commercial. ....However, as much as I loved the smells of the new camera and gear as I was unboxing it all, I don't think I want my women to smell that way. :)

The setup was basically like this:
