  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

very good i like this idea .i think it is so pricy ?

Not so bad.
Jib stick package starts at $12,995.00
Full contoller + head is $16,995.00

With the full controller, program up to 1hr continous moves, up to 2000 marks.
We had five heads running at NAB, got great feedback.

Thanks!

It's actually a damn impressive head - particularly for the cost. Nicolas Martin picked one up recently before a Disney job with Matt Uhry. It's got a lot of torque and it's quite precise... all much better than you might expect for the cost.

I'm sure Matt will chime in... :)

What I really want to be able to do is to run a move in real time and then slow it down significantly [over several minutes or hours] for a timelapse shot. Will the software support that? I have a shot I've been wanting to do for an upcoming job and I'd love to be able to use Nicolas's head.

So I can recod a move in realtime - maybe a 10-30 second move - and play it back in slow motion over the course of 20 minutes to several hours?

Do tell...

That's great product, we got more choice now.

Yeah, Brook, You record a move(up to ~1hour move), then put in how long that move should take, very tuneable. Several moves can be recorded, but timelapse only runs with current move. Recording a move is as simple as hit-record/move-the-head/hit-stop. Moves can also be programed using kuper, but that is another ball of wax.

Every head has it's geartrain hand lapped, smooth as glass. Two stage geartrain (belt-to-wormgear) means the belt part of the drive is very low torque, but overall torque is high(~25ft/lbs). No worries about a perfectly balanced load.

Full slip-rings both axis. Mercury-wetted vid channel, great res. HD still needs to run a cable unfortunely, a high frequency signal is difficult to run.

Matt, do you always talk so loud when you are tired?

I'm generally not a loud person, but I'm told that I can snore quite loudly.

Talon head is awesome. The Handwheels with inertial dampening are some of the best in the business.

We are happy with how the handwheels turned out. Glad you dig them.

Another working red, on a techno-jib.

We have a new FIZ handheld controller, for our rig. Not wireless, but should make the focus pullers job easier, no fighting over the main controller. Knob is focus, slider is iris, and toggle is zoom(can be rotated 90deg). What do you think?

Looks like an affordable competitor to the Viewfactor Mirus (not out yet).
