You might want to give Prospect 4K a try, download it from http://cineform.com/products/Downloads/Downloads.htm#DL1 That will work for 15 days and includes a R3D to Cineform avi converter.
But I warn you. You might not want to settle for something less afterward![]()
We will have a better idea about dates as soon and will post them when we are confident about the state of the plugin.

The conspiracy theories are incorrect. Some things turn out to be harder than expected and require a lot of work to be releasable to thousands of people.
Fair enough... still would like to know that it will also work in CS3?!
What is that?
After installing it, will it recognize R3D files and process it natively in PR?
How does the Prospect 4K demo work? Does the fotage get watermarked or something? If I'm able to cut the whole video in those 15 days will I have a finished product without having to buy anything?
Id rather not pay $2000 for prospect 4k now if the free RED-plug is released in the near future.
How will I go about working with the RED-files in AfterEffect? I need to do a bit of VFX and grading... Will Prospect allow me to do that or is this solution only for Premiere?
I'm currently working in CS2
Please advice. ...is Prospect 4K the best way at the moment? What are my options?
I shot a music video on RED a few days back and I'll probably have to cut it in Premiere...

I personally do not see a way around CineForm if you want to use Adobe.
Is Cineform Propect 4K compatible with CS2 or only with CS3 ?
Because the OP (like myself) is using CS2.
