  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Arrow 55 Group Buy?

I'd be expecting everything to be at least 1/3 cheaper from miller. American dollar now buys 1/3 more Aussie dollars as of this week. No idea what u guys are paying but i'd be investigating a little before u put down your hard earned on this great Aussie product

My bad - just checked and what I posted as being single stage CF is actually 2-stage CF. I corrected my original post text and the text on the Alaska pic to reflect that. I have a lot of equipment and just recently added in those 2-stage CF legs. Until recently, for a different tripod of mine, I had single stage CF legs.

The models of my Miller equipment pictured are as follows:

My single stage alloy legs are the Sprinter II (1589)

My 2-stage carbon fiber legs are the Sprinter II (1576)

My 3-stage spreaderless carbon fiber legs are SOLO (1505):

My fluid head is a Miller Arrow 55 (1028):

The single stage alloy and 2-stage CF legs are both rated for 99 pounds, and the Miller 55 head is rated for 55 pounds. The heaviest head load in my six pictures posted is 55 pounds (Optimo 12x). As I mentioned previously, the SOLO VJ CF legs are rated for 66 pounds.
 
Still waiting to hear back from our Miller contact. He was at a trade show last week and I think he's off for Columbus Day today.

I was thinking similar thoughts. Apparently the U.S. dollar isn't the ugly duckling anymore.

The SOLO legs lock into place in three different positions. When they lock in, they are very solid. The SOLO legs are rated for up to 66 pounds, so the pictured Nikon loads are really light for them. No twist in the legs on fast pans.

The screw locks are pretty fast to use. As with any screw lock, you need to make sure all three screw locks on each leg are locked down tight before using the tripod.

Had a fantastic tour today through the Miller factory and product range in Sydney today, let me tell you guys that anyone buying Miller is truly in great hands. Awesome dedication to quality, craftsmanship and most importantly PEOPLE.

That's one of them. Based on the response here, we have three Miller Arrow 55 kits (regular sticks and SOLO sticks) and a Miller DS-60 kit that we threw in there because we really think it's a better head for RED and we can offer a great deal on it.

Has anyone received a quote yet? I requested one over two days ago and have still herd nothing. Just curious.
 
I got a quote the same day it was announced. I spoke to someone in CA as the NY office was closed by then. I don't know if he misquoted since it was a newly offered package, but the one I was most interested in - the 1726 package - was more than BH Photo's everyday price.
 
I'll check into this. I know that our prices on this are supposed to be lower than such everyday pricing elsewhere. We definitely lowered pricing by working out a special arrangement with Miller.
