  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BUILD 17 Beta

Outputs.

Outputs.

We do understand what is being asked for, and even hesitate to say "sorry" for the RED-ONE, as there a similar things we finally found a path for.

As to the "pick any two" I don't mean pick which two will have graphics on them, that is defined to follow this sequence -

RED-EVF, RED-LCD (which is in effect a second RED-EVF, but scaled) then finally the PVW HD-SDI / HDMI outputs.

Hi
Would the Zeiss Master primes correspond to the i Lens Data Interface

Is it possible to have the HDSDI without the Look Around

Well with RGB recording enabled, yes you would have that.

With RAW record the only way that could be done is if all the monitor ports have no Look Around i.e you would lose it on the RED-EVF and LCD outputs too.

In the current mode, you do still get Look Around indicated by the 50% grey shading... and you could add frame guides in your HD-SDI monitor.

OK.. I understand the problem/challenge.

Can with my Astro (don't think the panny can). Good to know as it might effect peoples purchase decisions.

Also will the HDSDI carry TC?

thanks for answering!

Michael

PS anybody have the link to the wireless TC reader display that has been talked about recently.

We are working on that, but its not very likely to make it into the official Build 17.

* Improved JAM SYNC operation : removed requirement to record before syncing.

Uhh, what does this one mean? So Build 16 required me to hit Record before syncing? Or record some stuff to the drive? This wasn't mentioned in the manual...

Looks like I might be breaking my "no betas" rule... I had problems syncing to my Sound Devices 702T yesterday (idential sync procedure worked fine the day before), so if this fixes it, great!

Or else I'm doing something wrong and am an idiot?

Timecode JAM SYNC

Timecode JAM SYNC

Yes, in Build 16 and all previous builds, SYNC to external timecode source is achieved by initiating a recording.

On Build 17 we changed that.

As long as JAM SYNC is enabled, we SYNC to external timecode source automatically. No need to record a clip.

Thanks Stuart, looks like we might try going to Build 17.

We got it again today - 3rd time in the day when I jammed from 702T -> RED, the RED was 2 seconds behind (fine the other 2 times). Then I tried jamming from RED -> 702T - still seemed out by a second. Do stuff with camera for 10 minutes, and then it is dead on... I guess we initiated a recording and that caused timecode to sync?

If we hit more problems, we'll try the new build, thanks!

Otherwise, having a ton of fun with your camera in Japan...

Bruce,
Previous to build 17 the camera did NOT sync at all unless you hit record for a second. Then the camera would sync and all is well. With B17 this has been fixed so that once you connect it syncs.

Hope this helps.

This wasn't my experience. ON build 15 when I would plug in the timecode cable it would sync, it just wouldn't show the chains indicating a real sync until we pushed record. I could go in the menu and turn on and off jam sync and watch the timecode change.
