  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks...

to all those that offered footage for the IBC reel. I understand that everyone was blown away by the range of footage shown in the reel and satisfied in every way by the "look of RED".

I personally appreciate all that contributed and offered to contribute.

I can't wait to see this reel. Will it be available online anytime in the future?

We'll post it as a 1080P or 2K soon.

Jim

You have much to be proud of, Jim. The reel looked absolutely astounding.

I was at IBC with my collegue and although I saw Crossing the Line last year in 4K, this footage AGAIN blew us both away.

Great reel, congratulations to all that made the projected images!

It's also funny, I went to IBC 2006, my first IBC. A bit interest for RED, I already followed it via the forums since the beginning.
Breathtaking to see the first images by Frankie (which I now at IBC 2008, could for the very first time see in the presentation, how Frankie really looked). A couple of persons, but not much.

2007... more people.

2008... many more people.

It's nice to see the attention growing every year. Red deserves it.

EDIT: I just discovered that a new long feature in Belgium is being shot with Red One camera's. In a country where there only are released 5-or some long features, this is great news to read!

The Reel really looked amazing.

Having seen 4k for the first time on a big screen blew me totally away.

And I was prepared for something like that...

Would really like to see the reel again. And please put it somewhere online to embed (Vimeo comes in Mind) or allow me to put it there. It would be a good Viral Ad for you it Blogs like mine could embed it into their Site.

I will soon be an owner and producer myself, so I hope events like this help to enlighten detractors and inspire filmmakers everywhere. The Eye. The Eye. It can be done, to the best of our abilities! Rock on, Mr. Jim!

I saw the reel and it gave me goosebumps, almost made me cry, and made my nipples hard. Is that normal?

The first two symptoms are absolutely normal, mostly experienced among senior executives from competitors. The third symptom does not seem to be normal and would indicate different stimulus from the first two described. It may be entirely new type of bug, and there may be no cure. I think it is dangerous, as Jim warned many times here, and it is certainly infectious :nuke:

You're welcome, I sent in three DVDs of stuff after Ted screened my stuff and requested them, I think some stuff was chosen since Tunisha emailed me about how to credit me. I'd love to see the reel to know what was!

Red#0031 had at least a dozen shots from a wide range of directors and dp's; glad we could help out, again...seriously, nothing beats sitting with michael and ted till the wee hours of the morning color correcting footage, it is a pure joy to have the opportunity to work day in and day out with such a great tool, and such a great group of people.
