Wow... I just want to say thanks to everyone that has posted on this thread- your thoughts, opinions, and insights have been most helpful. Today I spent some time e-mailing and talking with Luke and Erik from Silverado and they have been very helpful in explaining Scratch and Scratch Cine to me (looks like we are more interested in Scratch Cine). Props to both of them and I encourage anyone that is considering Scratch to give Silverado a call and just talk with them about your options- they will be straight with you!
At this point in time (after reflecting on the responses I have seen in this thread) I am really curious to hear more specifics on what Scratch does really well (where does it 'shine') and also the areas that Scratch isn't as strong (how can the software improve)?
Also, I enjoyed Laguuns posts which gave some alternatives to Scratch. I must say that we are definitely leaning towards Scratch Cine, but what do these other platforms offer that Scratch doesn't offer?
Thanks in advance!
