The title says it all, I cant afford the full version of Crimson Workflow so I am looking for someone to kindly post their serial number for me...anybody willing to help a struggling film student out? Thanks in advance.

mmmm...you probably shouldn't ask anyone on a board like this to pirate a copy of anyones software. I get that your a film student and all and money is sparse but Ian is a member of this community that made a great product at a great price point that opened up a great workflow tool. If working with the RED in post is important to you, save up and buy the software. Until then, if you just need it to learn the limited copy will do you just fine.

Copaderek,

Download the demo and use it.
It works fine it limits you to 5 clips at a time but REDCINE can get funky if you go over 15 clips anyhow
so use the Demo until later.

Youll be fine.

good luck

Yes, you can have mine:

You know that you are begging for fraud?

I find it funny/sad that people don't see software licences as the property of the manufacturer. Ask Ian Bloom wether he has an educational licence for you. If not go working and buy one.

Somehow the internet and its possibilities like hiding behind a speudonym is not helping to raise awarness for normal legal behaviour. If I knew who you are you would not ask for such a request.

There have been times when a speudonym was a life-safer for writers who wrote scripts that have been a major offence agains a political regime. But nowadays? Mainly a paranoide angst thing of ordinary people, far away of hunted writers...

I find it sad that apparently the common sens is drifting in such an unlucky direction.

That's awesome. I've seen plenty of requests on boards for serial numbers and stuff, but never seen one posted on a board where the software's author is a regular user.

Can someone post a torrent link for a full version of SCRATCH for me? Oh, I want a copy of Avid DS please! :)

Dude, what you are asking people to do PLAIN SUCKS!

Ian Bloom created Crimson by himself. $180 is a bargain for the amount of time it would have taken to develop it.

If you haven't got the cash, find a different way to finish your film. I assume you can afford a mac with compressor?
I suggest you USE IT.

If you can afford to buy the computer, then you can afford to buy the software. If you can't afford the computer, then you don't need any software.

There's an awful lot of people here who make their living through sales of software or their films, and other means. And in a lot of cases, "making a living" means "putting food on their families' table and a roof over their heads."

Oh dear, oh dear...perhaps you should be on a torrent site...:pirate:

This isn't quite the same as pirating MS Office (obviously those guys are reasonably well off) - Ian wrote that piece of software by himself and by all accounts it's been an absolute godsend for post workflow, practically essential. He posts on this site all the time and practically everyone here is indebted to him for coming up with Crimson - so you'll find quite a lot of flaming coming your way

Compared to buying or even renting the camera itself, or buying Final Cut Studio 2, or buying a Mac Pro/MacBook Pro etc Crimson is small change. If you really are on a tight budget (rather than simply being tight) then just use the proxies as your finished piece (it's way simpler & they're pretty good quality, especially for SD): you can't always get what you really want if you can't afford it, we'd all like free Scratch systems!! But there are cheaper ways to achieve something that's still pretty good.

This'll make you laugh - if you look at his post history, the project he's working on is actually a pop promo for broadcast (so there's a budget?? He's already got a Mac Pro, Final Cut Studio 2, Magic Bullet etc but apparently Crimson is too much!! LOL):

I have an idea, PM Ian, ask him for a serial number, maybe he even gives you his credit card number and the security code! :ninja:

B:T:W Is anyone here selling a stolen red camera, interested on buying!
