  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED at IBC - some info for those attending.

RED Digital Cinema invites you to the RED Lounge at IBC2008. IBC 2008 will be held at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam, September 11-16, 2008. The RED Lounge will be located at Hall # 7, Space G11. Here are the dates and times of the exhibition where guests can visit the RED Lounge:

September 12: 12pm – 6pm
September 13: 930am – 6pm
September 14: 930am – 6pm
September 15: 930am – 6pm
September 16: 930am - 4pm

Guests at the RED Lounge will be able to view the RED ONE 4k camera as well as see models of the EPIC 5k camera, SCARLET 3k camera, and RED-RAY. There will also be conversation pits, refreshments, and WiFi access available. Ted Schilowitz, RED evangelist, will be present in the RED Lounge if you want more information about RED and RED products.

All product demonstrations, presentations, and 4k footage screenings will be done in the Digital Content Theatre. Schedule:

September 12: 5pm – 6pm
September 13: 5pm – 6pm
September 14: 4pm – 5pm

In the Digital Content Theatre, RED will give an overview of the current state of RED camera technology, show off the latest information on some of the new products in development from RED, and present 4k footage from commercials, television shows, Indie features, music videos and major Hollywood productions - all shot on RED.

In addition, RED will be discussing and demonstrating the advanced workflows for on-set viewing of footage, super-efficient and high-quality dailies, no render pathways for offline editorial, and DI finishing.

There is no need to register to visit the RED Lounge but please note that guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once capacity limit for the RED Lounge is reached, no more guests will gain entrance until space is available within the RED lounge. And, as always, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with a bad attitude.
 
From what I hear, Sony does not have any new product to compete with RED, at IBC2008.
RED will be king of IBC2008.
 
For God's sake, anyone going take lots of pretty pictures for those of us that can't make it.
 
On Sunday Night 14 September, Miguel de Olaso, AKA "macgregor" will be one of our featured presenters at the FCPUG SuperMeet inside the Gashouder on the grounds of the beautiful Culture Park Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. We hope Ted pays us a visit too if he's still standing.

Agenda will be announced tommorrow or Monday, August 18.

Going to be a jam packed show.

The primary presentation at IBC is the footage being shown in the theater. Ted will also go over a lot of camera stuff there.

Hopefully Ted will get my DVDs on time and the footage will stand to expectations. It shows a sequence of birth of one of the most charismatic and rare Australian animals. Yet, such sequence has never been filmed before. It was emotional. I had tears in my eyes, so forgive me if something is slightly out of focus...

Apple will not be on the show floor at IBC. They will be at the SuperMeet however.

There will be three tables filled with FCP Gurus as part of our "FCP trade Show" I imagine someone will be well versed in Red work flow. If not, Miguel certainly will be, and the many other Red users expected to show up.
 
Should be a good time in Amsterdam - they have in my opinion the best theater experience of any trade show/ convention center on the planet (and I've been to lots of trade shows) With a Huge screen and proper digital projection. So if you haven't been to an IBC, it's very worthwhile to attend if you can swing it.

It will just be me and Chris P. in :"Club RED" on the show floor, so come and hang out with us before the screenings and other fun in the Digital Cinema at IBC

Nacho is famous for his IBC partys since the 90ties.
The last 5D parties were legendary.
