We're sending a tree removal service to transport the tree to CA so we can
keep testing.
A little Alabama summer thundershower just started; I'll send a snap of the tree as soon as I can.
It's really nothing special; my theory is it was the combination of wide angle, 16MM, and 16x9 with high contrast and tons of fine detail that overwhelmed the compression engine.
I think people who escaped the codec errors may have been shooting tighter, thus less detail in the frame.
Best regards,
Leo
A tree with that many bugs can't last all that long...
I am curious though; was there some fairly obvious 6-legged creepy-crawly chased out of the firmware, or does the possibility exist that some even more warped, twisted or overexposed tree trunk will cause further problems?
David you don't know how true your words are. Several years ago we went to a Christmas tree farm to cut our own tree. Brought the tree home, decorated it and the next day my wife calls me in hysterics. It seemed that once we got the tree indoors, the warmth caused hundreds of dormant ticks on the tree to become "undormant" and the tree was crawling with them! I raced home, dragged the tree, ornaments and all, outside and we had a lighting of the great tree, if you know what I mean. Really creeped us all out.
As you said, the bugs didn't last long!
