  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Stereo Mic for RED

I've been using the very affordable Audio-Technica AT825 and I must say the sound is pristine - even camera-mounted, it produces clear clean audio from sources 20' away.

How are you mounting it to the Red? Can you just put a battery into the back of the mike or do you need an external phantom power source?

I'm currently using a Sennheiser 416 with a phantom power source taped/clipped to the sidehandle and I am looking for a new mike that I can just put a battery in.. ( I know the pickup patterns are different....)

It takes 1 AA battery. I'm mounting it with in a shock mount with a 1/4-20 to whatever the threads are on the shock mount adapter I picked up for $20 at Film Tools.
