Hey Guys,

So I rendered out my final pic (still doesn't have sound) after color correction using Prores HQ. It's a 15 minute short which came out to be around 17GB (1920X 960).

My problem is, after a few minutes into the clip, quicktime keeps stuttering (breaking up, pausing, skipping frames...).

I'm on a Macbook Pro, 4Gig ram, Leopard and Intel C2D 2.2 GHZ.

Is this a common prob? Any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch.

What hard drive are you playing back off of? Most laptop hard drives aren't quite fast enough to play back 1080p ProRes HQ reliably. You might try playing back from an external FW800 drive containing a desktop (3.5") disk.

Ahh... So that is it then.

I was using a Lacie T1 external HDD and it was playing fine mostly, like 99% of the time. But when I try to play it from my internal HDD, its bad...

What file would you suggest for making a master HDCAM? I'm guessing uncompressed 10bit 1080P. I did generate this file which is about 100+ Gigs and around 944+ bit rate. That's not playing well even from the external HDD. I guess its a bit too much to play on any machine which is not high end.

Thanks.
