  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Contax Yashica or non Birger Canon Mounts?

Kinda agree with Aqua here. The cost seems more appropriate for rental houses as opposed to private ownership which is FINE. That's another niche in a niche of a niche market. We need these around regardless.

I wouldn't mind having a dumb EOS/EF mount just to be able to adapt all of the above (with the exception of PL) to whenever I want.

Aqua sounds right to me too, at that point… besides that the IMS Front by P+S will also include the possibility to use an optical viewfinder

and

But again this is maybe a feature that is not so much wanted by people coming from prosumer cameras.

For me, indeed the combination of P+S and Birger would be a real killer… and I see no reason why this option will not be an offer in the future… Am I all wrong there?

Why should it be so hart to adopt the Birger mount to the IMS Front?

If that’s done you really have all the options and can even go with the cheap adapters for Nikon, Contax, Leica, M42, etc. for $20

12-14 weeks if no problems accure:weight_lift:

Do it faster and you would be in business. Since the new problems with Birger and P+S an interim solution is badly needed. Go for it and let us know…

Buy the nikon mount and put a cy mount on it.

Why don't you guys just buy the nikon mount from red, pop the actual nikon part off and put on a C/Y part. The flange focal distance is only a millimeter off so you might be able to adjust with the adjustment on the camera. If not just trim a millimeter off of it.

Or just call doug underdahl, he has made nikon, leica, and others already - he already has blanks so he could probably make it in a week or two. (A day if he has nothing else to do.) If he needs to borrow a lens or some mounts from a set of extension tubes he can call me.

Maybe Doug Underdahl should put together some different mounts and put them up on his site. If he has a system with a "blank" that he can attach "any mount" to, it sounds like something people would want to buy, if it was available.

Call him, call him, call him. He's a sole proprietor - as with most extremely small companies you probably need to call him, ask about it, convince him that you want it and send money - rather than waiting for it to magically appear based on maybe he read a thread on reduser.

I just emailed him. I know I for one would pay $500 for a dumb canon mount. Like right now. Maybe that would stop me wondering if selling my camera for the $5000 premiums people are offering now is a good idea since the birger mount is delayed....

Seriously, though. Being able to use just about ANY lens (crazy medium format lenses included, LOL) is a much better choice than Nikon to me.

I really just want to be able to strap the C/Y Zeiss collection on. Yummy.
