2.2.8 is included when you download 16 Beta. It's probably an intermediary step required for the 16 upgrade to work.

2.2.8 is part of the 2 step process to go into build 16. they've mentioned it before somewhere.

yes, they announced this here awhile back, it is only thru playback not live.

The roadmap is single link HD-SDI 1080P at 4:2:2- true progressive and dual link HD-SDI 1080P 4:4:4 true progressive.....
