  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Origos - and custom connectors

Here's a thought: Make one that has a 232 LEMO [or equivalent] sticking directly out of its back. This way, when it's plugged into the 232 port on the dumb side of the camera, it adds a fixed button, beeper and status indicators [with tally light]. Just plug it in and leave it on the body. No cable, no flexibility, nothing. Just a fixed little box with a fixed low-profile male LEMO-lookalike out the back.

Is it possible to put a female LEMO on a cable, to use as an extension, without making it unreasonably bulky? Perhaps a female 232 LEMO on the back of the unit, and a short male-male adapter for plugging directly to the port?

that's probably doable brook. The tricky part is the plug that mounts directly to the product. Those seem to never be in stock. I'll look into it though.

Brook, nice idea. This is similar to the trigger button that P+S Techniks makes to stick into the remote port on the side of their Pro35 unit.

I've been trying to find an xlr connector I found on the internet but I can't. Anyway it had a joint at it's connection making it possible to click it to three different stages - straight, right & left angle.

Now if you're making your own connections and cables maybe this could be something to think about, considering RED is a "bit of a mess" when it comes to it's directions in connections.

Just a thought
