Here is some aerial footage I shot with the Red last week. My settings are 2k 16:9, 100fps, Red Raid Drive, Red Lens 18-50mm lens. I had some camera seize up in the heli. We were pulling alot of G's. It was kind of funny relaying to the athletes to hold for a camera reboot. Usual the message is,"Hold for a film change." I have always been super loyal to film as I spend most of my time in the snow. This shoot has changed my perspective to some extent. The 100 fps transition helps, but I also like the look and the way the RAW files can be manipulated. I did my own color correction and I suck at it, but I was able to at least get a feel that someone who knows what they are doing can crush it. Sorry this is only Youtube quality, but I went renegade to show this board the footage so I did not want to use the company site.

If anyone knows a higher res place to post this I will. I think you guys would like the higher res.

Beautiful footage. That's how I plan on spending my winter of 08-09. Except minus the heli, insert cables. Ghetto fab.

I've always been a big fan of the TGR productions and it is great to see you guys testing the camera because I've seen nothing but quality from you in the past and it would be great to see what you can do with the Red One. Keep it comin

That's sooo sweet. I once took a Sony HVR-Z1U (handheld by my right foot) down the glacier at Whistler. It was pretty cool but your footage makes that footage look like amateur night. :) Wow!

Please post on RedRelay.net

I just sent Chris an email to get a login on redrelay. I think you guys will be stoked to see it at resolution. On a side note: Does anyone know any good colorists that are familiar with the RED that I could get to work on my footage?
Thanks,
Todd

Incredibly nice! Thanks for sharing, I´d love to see it at a better resolution that what youtube can provide.

i just fixed that. it is available now. new to that program sorry.

Hey, you have to upload the footage at exactly 1280x720 in order for the HD option to be enabled at Vimeo. That means you gotta "pad" the extra pixels (40top/40bottom) to bring the vertical resolution up from 640 to 720 with RED's 2:1 <<Edited to add: Sorry just realized you shot this in 16:9, should make it easier to upload at 1280x720 though>>

Would you post that on Vuze.com in 1080p! Amazing work...Is out there shot all on the Red?

Dane

The slo-mo skiing shot is amazing! Thanks so much for putting it up, in whatever resolution.

Thread drift alert: I've never tried Vimeo before... I tried a simple rotating test pattern but the video does not seem to play back smoothly, it looks very jerky and steppy on my computer. Is my PC just underpowered (quite possibly?) Can anyone see this working smoothly? http://www.vimeo.com/1049025

Great footage, I`m just wondering why you chose 2k @ 100fps as apposed to 2k@120fps, was it a technical decision or artistic? I suppose there`s less for the codec to deal with at 100fps as apposed to 120.
