  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 16 Preview...

Yeap!

The vertical lines you are talking about are driving many people crazy but the chicken scratching on the blue channel is something else.

Both are now gone.

just finished day 3 on a 60 day shoot, drama series, 2k 16:9, 2 reds.
what will happen to post production if we switch to build 16 during the series,
I love to have less noise so on the camera side there is no problem to switch.

4k 16:9

What about famous "codec error"? Can we count on 4k 16:9 in Build 16?

I love to hear a answer on that to 4K 16:9 ?? !!

Will the new batch of cameras likely ship with 16?

As soon as we get a release build of 16 it will go into new cameras.

Dear Jim,

About the exposure tools in Build 16... are they based on the RAW data from the sensor or still on the log curve? When should we expect information taken directly from the sensor?

Thanks!

George

the vertical noise that is fixed in build 16.. will red provide a way to remedy that stuff in build 15? or are we left to our own devices?

does anyone have any recommendations on noise reduction software or techniques to reduce the vertical noise? i have a few shots in a scene that have this issue, which almost entirely goes away once processed full 4k etc in redcine, but its still kind of visible...
