Anybody know when this might be a reality, as i'm going thru this footage that was digitized on other computers i'm seeing that the monitors that aren't calibrated are certainly showing it.

It would be wonderful if i could do my first light grading to something i can have a fine level of adjustment over instead of the misleading cinema display. Any word if this might be a feature in the next build?

This is something that I would love to see as well. Another reason why I'm a huge supporter of roundtripping and taking DPX's to Color. We can monitor out to our HD monitors in that program and know exactly what we're getting.

I've been wondering this myself. Red?...

cinespace equal eyes....otherwise time to buy scratch, and the whole calibrated monitor kitten kaboodle.

MXO and/or Kona 3 output from Redcine - show me where you have this info from, please...

I tested a MXO. It converts a DVI output to HD-SDI. So as long as RedCine is going out the DVI port your Matrox is on then it'll work. I didn't test it for long, but another guy on these forums says he's been using the Matrox to play realtime RedCine 2k playback out to a deck. I personally didn't try that. If you've got a Matrox rep in your area you could probably arrange a demo.

I think we are talking about two different things. Redcine does not have a frame buffer and does not play out to tape. For that you need SCRATCH CINE.

Your guy has probably done this in FCP with the proxies. Same with the Kona card.

Cheers,
Fredrik

Matrox MXO will do it for you.
Seconded. The MXO is a great little external box that allows you to see the RedCine screen on a calibrated monitor. We've used it on a few videos now with excellent results, thanks our workflow partners at Musetex.
