  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone recieved the microMatteBox for Red One?

I got an invoice saying that I have been charged for my order and it's in production. I also got an updated invoice (I changed my shipping address) that said it shipped yesterday on the 9th, but I think that was a goof (it would be wonderful if it wasn't!) I don't know how far down the list I am, but I'm pretty sure that I am very close to the front of the line.

I got an email from Brian yesterday stating that they are just finalizing a few last minute changes, I got the impression they will be shipping in a week or two.

I've paid the Matte Box 17 of April. Redrock was stating to ship within 30 days (or?). Anyone heard or recieved tracking #? Could they be out the red knobs?

Hey Brian - any updates on delivery schedule?

Asked yesterday the same question..this is what I received from Redrock

"Hi, Ed! There is a minimum 40 business day (60 calendar day) lead time for the microMatteBox from the date of your original order. Once these items are available, the order will ship complete. Thank you."

English is not my native language but for what I understand is that you have to wait for at least 60 days after ordering without any guarentee when they will actually ship.
Must say a funny way of doing business - asking your customer to pay in advance without giving a timescale when goods will be delivered

It seems last I tuned in they were just fine tuning - I think we were allowed to pay for them during NAB - so the earliest by this schedule is mid June.

Just curious and anxious.

40 days ...

40 days ...

I ordered and paid on 15th April. 40 bussiness days means 60 days, So I am expecting my Matte Box on 15th June. I was hoping earlier, or even an email letting know a little more precise ETA. Red had a schedule. View Factor has a schedule posted. Please Redrock let us all know how the delivery dates look now.

Yeah, I thought the 60 days was the max, not the min days.

Brian, you guys still making those matte boxes or did you forget?

Redrock's build quality is not great. I tested several 35mm adapters for a film a few years back and I had the most problems by far with the Redrock (but it was also the cheapest).

I would not order the mattebox till I have seen a production version in the flesh.

just my 2 cents on this company.

On their website this message is posted.

Due to demand the current lead time is up to 60 days from receiving payment to when the microMatteBox is shipped. We are unable to accommodate requests for expedited shipping at this time

There is a minimum 40 day lead time has a different meaning than, the current lead time is up to 60 days from receiving payment to when the microMatteBox is shipped.

I know that there are people that have ordered one more than 60 days ago.

When I ordered I thought that matteboxes would be customer's hands within' 60 days, not that they would start shipping in 40 business days. I think that there is some major confusion here. On the Red Rock forum there is a number of postings (including my own) about this. Brian? Paging Brian.
