Thanks for that Richard. That's why I've never even contemplated getting a mount other than the Nikon. Love the aesthetics of Nikon glass. Was some of that focus shift just you messing with the ring?

Yeah, just feeling the lens out. I think if you threw on the Viewfactor FF and dialed the torque all the way down, you could simulate a longer focus throw.

Great Richard.

I feel pi*sed off because I canceled my Nikon mount a month ago.

Now sitting here with PL only and without Birger (still not shipping) and IMS (still not ready for production).

In May you have one of the best daylights in whole year, people are more cheerful and friendly just all has a better

condition to shoot documentaries and experiments especially in the cities.

Thanks for the clip. I'm starting out with the same mount/lens combo so its nice to see this images up front. Actually I didn't expect the images to look this good! :-)

In my opinion, if you have the Nikon mount, this lens is a must buy.. Its very sharp all around, its a good weight for the heavy red body as well - That dog is always happy if you take him outside

I am just a "poor" guy.

Have more than 30 still lenses waiting for the two other mounts.

Also Nikon 17-35 and 10 more other Nikkors, Canon EF L and other, Sigma, Leica R and M, Carl Zeiss, Schneider Kreuznach, etc.,...

One of the other legendary Nikons that might work well on RED is the 180mm f2.8. On my stills cameras it's always been just beautiful and sure it will be on RED too.

I agree about the 17-35. It's working really well on my RED. I'm also looking at the 80-200. I'll have some footage up soon with the 17-35, an 85, and a 200.

Loved the shots Richard!

Booth, as far I'm aware there is only one 17-35 and it's the f2.8 Af one. They are pretty in demand and tend to go for quite a bit, I think I paid about £600 for mine new, and that I think was a pretty good buy.

It's AF-S... Nikon Zoom Super Wide Angle AF-S Zoom Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF

Nice work Richard, was it the Nikon Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF AF-S?

How much did you manage to pick the lens up for if you don't mind me asking.

Hey Booth, brand new they are going for right around $1500 - I bought this one used off craigslist for $1200.. It's in mint shape so sometimes you can get lucky..

I saw one being advertised in the San Francisco craigslist a week ago for around $650 which is the cheapest I've ever seen.

Ebay is also an option, this one looks real nice, http://cgi.ebay.com/Nikon-17-35mm-f...yZ152383QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
