After looking for 190 watt v-mount batteries tonight, I found this: http://rathboneenergy.1freecart.com/c/3965/v-mount-bp-series-lithium-ion-batteries_2.htm

Even if you consider the fact that you would have to buy an extra charger, it would still be $400 cheaper then B4B! They look like they probably buy the same batteries and chargers from overseas. Since they are only an hour away from me, I might just drive up there and see if they won't let me test one out on a camera!

Looks identical to what I have. Go up there with your camera and test them all. I'm sure the company would appreciate it and post the results on their website.

Perhaps they can figure out the problem with the one's that don't work.

OMG that must be REDS source for the system...and here I was thinking they designed the entire setup from the ground up :) stupid me.

No news from them yet. I will probably wait until either my RED comes in or my friend's RED arrives to actually call them about testing their batteries. I would just stop in but I'm not sure they actually carry v-mounts in stock or not. I am afraid that it's going to be like the B4B's and need the dual v-mount to run (which I still think is a better system because you don't have to keep restarting the camera.)

I'll let you all know something when I hear it.

Hi All,

I see that everyone is waiting for information about whether our batteries will work on their new cameras. I appologize for the delayed response. We have been in the process of moving our assembly and rebuilding set up into a new building over the last couple of weeks. I am working from my home office while we are in transition. We hope to have everything set up and operating very soon. I was at the new building helping out for most of last week. Unfortunately we do not have the office of phone lines set up yet at the new building so I have been out of touch for several days.

We would be thrilled to have anyone who would like to visit us come by and try out our batteries on your camera.

Matthew, I sent an email out to you earlier today containing the above information. I have your email and phone #. As soon as we are up and operating from the new building I will give you a call to set up a time for you to come by and visit with us.

Everything we have heard from new RED owners is that they use a standard V-Mount Battery. Our V-mount batteries will work as a replacement for any V-mount battery regardless of brand they will work on any lihium ion v-mount charger.

We look forward to meeting with Matthew so we can confirm this.

Our move will not affect the lead time on lithium Ion batteries at all as they are not manufactured in our Tennessee assembly plant.

If anyone has any additional questions reguarding our Lithium Ion batteries please feel free to email me at lisa.rathboneenergy@yahoo.com.

We are very excited about the new RED Camera and look forward to working withRED Users regarding battery options.

I got on order (waiting for paypal to move a bit faster) 4 160W with additional charger.
Hope they work fine on Red.
Dealing with Lisa is a brisk.
Will report the results once I get it.

We'll see who finds out first...if I make it up there to test first or if you get your order first;)

I will email lisa and let her know why we are not sure if their batteries will work or not (the B4B issue with the batteries pushing too much voltage.)

I am not sure if this is what your are asking or not but the out put is 14.8 V.

no, was waiting for my paypal to pass the payment. It's click away now.
I am not to sure what I'll do with them if they don't work.
