Anyone have a read on this problem or come across it.

With the camera set at Red defaults in 4k I get the Error; Frame Rate Too High and the camera wont turn over.

If I change the chip to 2K it turns over fine.

Full reset and camera power recicle did not resolve the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Recording Error FRMRATE_TOOHIGH"

"Recording Error FRMRATE_TOOHIGH"

If you select 4K 16:9, 23.98 or 24 or 25 fps, REDCODE 36; the data rate is too high for Compact Flash cards.

In the UI you wil see that the SETTINGS O.K label will have a bar through it - indicating you can't do that - and when you try and record anyway the camera will say "Recording Error FRMRATE_TOOHIGH"

So you will need to shoot to RED-DRIVE, or back off to 2:1 aspect or REDCODE 28

Thanks guys really appreciate it. I was showing a DP at the time so when I went back to the Red Drive it was all perfect as stated above.

Sometimes the motors get kind of gunked up if you don't clean and lubricate the bearings often enough. The short term solution is to hit phase a few times to clean out the cobwebs.
