Hi everyone

We want to be clear about the expectations we set so you can be an informed buyer and also be able to plan for your productions. Our stated lead time is 40 business days (60 calendar days) to fulfill all orders. We prioritize the golden ticket holders, then the reservation holders, then all other orders. For planning purposes you should consider the longest lead time possible. As we've stated in all our communications, we will ship in this priority, and our lead time is up to the 40 business days. We cannot accommodate requests for expedited shipping at this time (although we appreciate that everyone seems to ask for it)

Brian,

Shouldn't we be charged only when it is ready to ship? That's normal for pre-orders, and that is what I was counting on.
Best Regards,
Thom
I second that, or maybe just charge us a 10% deposite until the shiping.
Best regards
Brice

http://www.redrockmicro.com/microMattebox.html

- information on filter sizes, configurations, etc. is also on that page, and there is another good thread here that goes through excruciating detail on the microMatteBox.

Brian,

All I could find on your website was:

" Works with industry standard support and filter sizes and therefore your existing gear.."

So, can I assume that if it is vignetting on Zeiss UP 8R or Cooke 150mm diameter front doesn't fit into it, I can send your mattebox back with a sticker "doesn't work" and ask for my money back?

Just asking.

So, "the specifications" pointed by Brian on RedMicro website are misleading!

Considering that they also do not specify angle of view and claim that anything will work looks suspicious to me.

Just placed an order for Arri MB as this product seems underdeveloped and deceptively advertised. :bye2:

Pawel - as a *NEW* product the specifications are subject to change, and we update them as soon as we have the information. We read and subscribe to threads like this so we can get this info out to everyone as soon as possible. I disagree that it is deceptively advertised - all of our product information says "subject to change without notice" and we do our best to get the revised information out as fast as we can. If you read reviews of the people who have actually seen it in person it is a finished robust product.

Bassam - The 5 free microMatteBox drawing will still happen, we just didn't have time this week. We will select and announce the winners shortly

Brian,

It is a big "change without notice" from "working will all lenses" to "NOT working with all lenses".

I do find such information deceptive and misleading, specially that it is still boldly displayed on your website and referred by you.

I second that, or maybe just charge us a 10% deposite until the shiping.

Brice,

Arri charged me 10% deposit, delivery in Australia 3-4 weeks. They also provided me with a comprehensive list of lenses that their MB would be compatible with.

Buyer beware.

We don't make any representations it works with all lenses - I don't know any reputable company that would. After reviewing our official microMatteBox page I don't see any representation of this. Again, we make clear from the very outset that our specifications are subject to change without notice. If that doesn't work for you, then it sounds like the extra money you are spending with Arri gives you the comfort level you like. As for deceptive, again I disagree. I don't know how it would serve our customers or us if we sold a matte box that didn't work. Customer would be unhappy and we would be unhappy. If anyone ever has questions on compatibility they can always drop us a line directly

Brian,

I was referring to those statements on your website:

"...Works with industry standard support and filter sizes and therefore your existing gear...", "...Adaptable to various lens sizes...", "...Universal mattebox...", "...design for ultra wide angle lenses...".

They do not tell me anything useful, do they?

OK, I will repeat my question for the third time: Does it or does it not work with Zeiss UP 8R?

Also, Does it or does it not work with Zeiss MP 14mm?

FYI, In case of Arri I do get this information on their website for almost every professional lens out there for all of their range of matte boxes.

Pawel

I think you have an unrealistic expectation of what kind of information we can provide as a small vendor with a new product. If you want a vendor with a list of every possible lens compatibility, then the extra $4,000 you will spend with arri will be well spent.

We can of course research specific lenses and give you a more exact answer - that will just take a little time

Thanks Brian.

I look forward to see some more concrete information on your new product in the near future.

Hi Russ

Sorry - missed that one. We do require payment up front - it's the same as our build to order process, but it is a longer lead time. Unfortunately I don't have any options here as we are setup with just a build-to-order process including upfront payment. If that is a concern, I suggest you wait to place your order until the lead time is shorter

Cheers

Brian

Just another opinion here. I saw the Redrock mattebox on the Red. It is shockingly good for the price.

I need to spend some time with it to determine if it is shockingly good regardless of the price (and only time and putting it in various situations would tell), but at the price it's at, it's phenomenal. This thing is a no-brainer. Buy it, if it doesn't work for you you'll have *no* problem unloading it on ebay.
