Does anyone know how to create a lookup table for RED. Does anyone have LUT's made for RED they want to share?

Actually, I thought you are supposed to be able to make LUTs in camera in build 15. I haven't tried it though.

Yup, you can, create them on-camera and share with another camera. Pretty basic right now, but will be enhanced in the future.

Stuart, will the LUT/LOOK system support strictly what we have access to in the camera now [contrast, saturation, color gain, etc.] or will it eventually support curves that we create in R:A! or RC?

good point. even if RED does not provide them, can you imagine the amount of .look file sharing that will be going on. i can't wait to have an SD Card filled with loads of different .looks that i can apply to any camera or throw in redcine on any clip. will be absolutely AMAZING!

twilm - I doodled with it with my camera the other week - dialed in a WB, "brightness" (gamma) and "contrast" (s-curve) and saturation I liked, saved it. Camera saved it to a filename with a number to the SD card I'd put in. I reset camera to default, loaded my preset, and bing! Had my setting back. In THEORY should be able to pop that card, stick it in another camera (or read it off, email the file, put on another card, etc.), load the setting, and your look is now same on multiple cameras. Repeat N-1 times for N cameras on your big set.

What is presently lacking is a way to load/tweak/apply in Red Alert/Redcine.

Random thought - YO STUART - would be nice to control these such that you could tell it to "record" values changed from default, and leave others alone. So is a layer to apply. Think Paste Attributes in FCP if that helps. Hmm...thinking further, gets complicated, but ideally, when saving, an optional screen with a bunch of checkboxes on what to record. When loading, an optional screen with same checkboxes to tell it which ones to pass to camera, which ones to not implement....and BTW, there is probably a patent to be had in there.

Dibs.

Thanks Mike.

I hope to get my camera by end of next month and try them out. What is more important is for the DP to check the look and record them like the solution offered by Cinetal and Iridas and pass the .look file to the colorist for final grading. Can this or how can this done with the current workflow for Red with Red Alert/Cine?
